Cherry's POV
Ever since my dad died, I honestly haven't been the same. In some aspects, that was good, in others, not. I really only hung out in my new room at Cory's house. I always felt safe there, but it wasn't home. I missed my dad. It was the first day of senior year, and I gotta be honest, I wasn't exactly thrilled. I wished my dad was here. I had gotten ready, but I laid on my bed playing with the locket with the picture of me and him he gave me for Christmas. I felt a tear roll down the side of my face. "Hey babe" Shawn came in and I quickly wiped my tears and sat up.
Shawn's POV
"Hey." She said back and smiled softly. "Are you okay?" I asked and sat by her. She leaned her head on my shoulder and nodded. "Come on babe, it's senior year! We are gonna have so much fun this year." I tried convincing her to get up. "You're right. I just need to get up and be happy, I've got you and everyone else." She said, and I could tell her smile wasn't completely real. There was still a little artificialness to it. "Look, me, and Topanga, and Cory, we are gonna be there for you." I said. "I know. I love you Shawn." She said. "I love you too." I smiled. She took my hand and we walked downstairs.
Cherry's POV
We walked downstairs and Mrs Matthews was waiting for us. "Cherry! Do you want some breakfast?" She asked sweetly. "No, but thanks, we are just gonna head to school." I smiled sweetly. "Okay, see you after?" She questioner. "Yes ma'am!" I said walking out the door. "You feelin good about your new living situation?" Shawn asked me. "Yeah, it's safe and nice and warm and not at all what I'm used to, but it's not home." I said looking down at the ground. "I understand. Look on the bright side. It's senior year, we get to apply to colleges this year!" Shawn said excitedly. "Oh yeah. I think I'm gonna apply to Pennbrooke and LSU." I said. "Perfect, that's where I will apply." He smiled. "Yay." I said and hugged him.
