20: basketball

Cherry's POV
While in Turners class, I turned to Shawn. "Hey, who you have after lunch?" I asked. "I have Baker with Cory, you?" "Topanga and I have Feeny, maybe he finally wanted a break from you and Matthews." I said. He laughed. The lunch bell rang and we all walked together. There was a kind of thick tension in the air between Cory and T. Shawn had his arm round my waist and he was holding on to me tight, tighter than normal. and every time a guy looked at me, he'd scoff and roll his eyes. it was weird. but, i decided to just let it go.

Shawn's POV
We just sat down at the table. I had pulled Cherry's chair closer to me. "Shawn, why are you acting so protective, you know I need space to breathe, right?" She asked and scooted away a tiny bit. "All the guys keep looking at what's mine." I said and looked at her. "Shawn, no one can steal me from you. I promise." She said and kissed my cheek. "Okay." I said. "I might be at Cory's for a while after school, but how about I come pick you up for a late date at Chubbies tonight?" I whispered in her ear and intertwined my hand with hers. "Sounds great." She said and kissed me. "I'll probably be at Topanga's, maybe pick me up there?" She asked. "You got it babe." I winked at her. She smiled and leaned on me.

Cherry's POV
it was after lunch, and T n I, were in Mr Feeny's class. We sat by each other in the back. "Hey T, can we walk to your house, I'm letting Shawn take my truck?" I asked her. "Yeah, of course." She smiled. We listened to Mr Feeny, and took down the notes. T and I walked to the front entrance where Cory and Shawn were waiting. "Here." I handed Shawn my truck keys. "Pick me up from Topanga's whenever." I said and kissed his cheek. "Alright, see ya later shorty." He said and pecked my lips right as I was leaving. "That's new!" I yelled running to catch up with T.

Shawn's POV
"You guys are already so cute, like, what?"  Cory said. "We've been going out for pretty much a year, we just never made it official, and always said we were best friends, but come on, we've been pretty much dating since the day we met Cory." I said. "Yeah, you're right. She's letting you drive her truck?" He asked. "Yeah?" I said. We drove to Cory's. It was about 5 o'clock when we left his house to go to the park and play basketball. Cherry and Topanga were there playing on the playground like little kids. "Cory, if you want, we can go somewhere else?" I offered. "Nah, it's fine Shawn. Let's just play basketball." He said while looking at Topanga and Cherry sadly. "Ok.." I said. We were playing a game of one on one and it was like 7 by the time the girls had left. "Cory, I have to go, I told Cherry I'd take her to a late date to Chubbies tonight." I said. "Ok, let's go, I can walk home if you wanna pick her up now?" He offered. "No, it's ok Cor, she's walking, so by the time I drop you off and get to Topanga's, she should be ready to go.

Cherry's POV
*6:45 pm* "Hey T, can we head back? Shawn promised to take me on a date to Chubbies tonight." I said. "Oh yeah, of course." She smiled and we head back. "Do you wanna have a sleepover this weekend, just us, no Shawn, just me and you." I nudged her. "Sounds fun, I'll be there, or will you be here?" She asked. "Which one do you want?" "I think here is okay, if I change my mind I will let you know." She smiled. "Ok, Topanga, do you still have my overnight bag here?" I asked. "Yeah, why?" She asked. "I think I'm gonna change." I said. "Ok!" She said and we ran in her house.
