Shawn's POV
Cherry and I were laying on her couch watching a movie. All I kept thinking about was what she said earlier. She needed me? For what, what happened? "Hey Cherry?" I asked. She hummed laying on my chest. "What did you mean earlier? Why did you need me, did something happen over the time period where we weren't talking?" I asked. She immediately tensed up. "No, you were just my boyfriend, sometimes a girl needs her boyfriend. That's- that's all." She said, she was definitely hiding something. "Cherry, what happened?" I asked and she stayed silent.
Cherry's POV
"Cherry, please, ya have to let me back in, I am here for you." He said and rubbed my shoulder. I sighed. "About a week into our break, my dad was on a another trip. My uh, my mom called." I said and wouldn't look at Shawn, I just stared at the ceiling. "You- you're mom called you? What did she say?" He asked. "My Ba Ngoai and Ong Ngoai cut her off finally, she wanted a place to say." I said and shrugged. "Well?" He asked. "Ya know, she didn't even ask how I've been, she didn't say she missed me, she just tried to vouch off my dad and I." I said and he sighed. He cuddled me close.
*flashback*
I was sleeping on the couch and I heard the phone ring. I answered it, and a familiar voice came out the other end. "Hey baby Cherry, it's momma!" She said. "Mom? Why are you calling here?" I asked. "Well, Ba Ngoai and Ong Ngoai cute me off sweetie, can I please come to your house?" She asked. "No, mom you can't. I do not want, nor need you here right now." I said. "Oh baby, you wouldn't do that to your mama?" She said, half questioning it. "Yeah, and I thought you'd never leave." I said. "Cherry, my little dumpling, I'm sorry." She said. "Yeah, well I'm not, you're not staying here, and if you even think about calling again, I'm reporting your number, and your name for harassment." I said, and hung up the phone.
*flashback over*
Shawn's POV
"I'm really sorry I wasn't here for you." I said and she cuddled closer to me. She sighed heavily. "It's ok Shawn." She said and smiled. "I love you." I said. "I love- snuggles." She said and tried to get closer. I tried backing more into the couch, acting shocked. She dramatically gasped, "You don't wanna snuggles?" She made a sad face. I laughed and pulled her as close as I possibly could. Just as she was about to fall asleep, "I love you too Shawnie." I laughed and kissed her head. We fell asleep, safe and sound. Best sleep I've had in 4 weeks.
