Shawn's POV
I had woke up and Jack was already at the table. I sat with him and there was an awkward silence. "Do ya love her?" He asked. "Yeah, of course I do." I said. "Then why? Why did you do that to her?" He said. "Because- I, I couldn't lose someone I loved, because if I loved her, she'd leave anyway, I figured I'd just save myself the heartbreak." I said and tried to walk away. Little did I know, Cherry was listening. "Don't you dare try to walk away Shawn." Jack said.
Cherry's POV
"Yeah, Shawn. I'd really love to hear why, you could save yourself from heartbreak, by causing it for me." I said and walked down the stairs. "Cherry, i didn't know you were awake." He said. "Yeah I'm awake. Save yourself from the heartbreak? Ok then, did Jack tell you what I said last night? Huh, did he tell you what I said when I was drunk off my ass, because of you!" She raised her voice. "No he didn't." He said calmly. "Good. And you wanna know something Shawn. I love you, I love you, I love you. But you know what?" I asked angrily. "What?!" He raised his voice. "YOU AREN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO KNOWS WHAT ITS LIKE TO BE LEFT, YEAH I STILL HAVE MY DAD, BUT I DON'T HAVE MY MOM. I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE." I shouted at him. "YEAH WELL, THAT DOESN'T MATTER." He yelled back. "Doesn't matter? DID I EVER TELL YOU HOW MY MOM WAS A SPOILED BRAT BEFORE SHE MARRIED MY DAD?! 'YOUR'E JUST THE DAUGHTER OF TRAILER TRASH CHERRY, YOU HAVE NOTHING INHERITED FROM ME, YOUR'E JUST MY TRAILER TRASH DAUGHTER.' IS WHAT SHE SAID TO ME BEFORE SHE LEFT. I UNDERSTAND WHAT ITS LIKE FOR A PARENT TO LEAVE YOU." I yelled and got in his face. "IS YOUR DAD DEAD?" He asked. "NO, BUT I UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU WERE GOING THROUGH, and you know what- this, is all my fault." I lowered my voice.
Shawn's POV
"What do you mean, your fault?" I asked lowering my voice to her level. "I am the one who told you if you needed time to grieve, to take time, because I knew how you felt, it may not have been my dad, but I know death, I know when someone needs time to grieve, so I gave it to you. I am the one who made you break up with me, because I wanted you to take time to TRY AND FEEL BETTER BECAUSE I KNEW FIRST HAND HOW BAD YOU WERE HURTING! So yeah, it's all my fault." She said, and walked out of the apartment. "All she ever wanted was to love you man." Jack said and walked off.
