-Maya's Point of View-

Gran-Gran hurried outside and I followed right behind her after closing the chest. But I kept the necklace in my hand.

Once I got outside, I saw Katara trying to get the people inside their tents and igloos.

I went to her and asked, "Where's Sokka?!"

"I don't know!" she replied. I looked around to search and I saw him at the entrance of the village near his watchtower.

I was about to call out his name when a big silhouette appeared and it grew bigger and bigger until a large fire navy ship appeared.

Oh no... They really have come...

I suddenly remembered everything that Gran-Gran and I talked about.

Fire nation... Whoever's in there, is one of my kind...

I can't help but feel angry. I just can't really accept this yet. Even if I am a fire nation native, I am still born in this tribe and I swore to protect it with all my life.

The ship then suddenly came crashing in on the ice grounds making a huge crack that went creeping inside the village.

One kid tripped and fell while running away. I noticed that the crack was creeping toward him.

I ran as fast as I could to save the kid and when I got him in my arms I looked over at Katara.

"Katara!" I shouted, and then I handed him the kid I was carrying.

I looked at Sokka and he was still there at the top of the ice wall. The ship was just a few meters far and he was still not moving away from its path.

"SOKKA, YOU IDIOT! GET OUT OF THERE!!!" I yelled. He still didn't move and the ship crashed the wall down. Luckily, Sokka wasn't injured. He was dragged by the ice down to the ground safely.

Once the ship has stopped moving, I ran up to him and gave him a knock on the head.

"YOU'RE CRAZY! DO YOU HAVE A DEATH WISH?!" I yelled.

"AH! THAT HURTS! I WAS JUST TRYING TO—" his sentence was cut when the ship suddenly made a noise as it released pressure from the bottom.

Everyone went outside of their tents and they all stared at the ship with silence. I angrily stared at it too.

We all stood there waiting for something to happen when suddenly, the tip of the ship went coming down where Sokka and I were standing.

"Watch out!" Katara yelled.

I grabbed onto Sokka's collar and I dragged him out of the way. We both fell to the ground and when I looked at the ship again, it now has a pathway.

At this moment, everyone was terrified, but me? I wasn't— I was furious.

Then suddenly armed men came out of the ship— five of them. The one in the middle had no helmet, but he has a big scar on his face, while the rest have their faces hidden.

I can't believe that these are my fellow men. I still don't want to accept it! This is crazy!

They started walking down the pathway, while Sokka and I, cautiously stood up.

Out of nowhere Sokka suddenly started shouting and went running towards the fire nation people.

"Sokka! No, wait!" I said as I tried to stop him but I wasn't able to. He was quick.

He raised his weapon while yelling, but as soon as he reached the one with the scar, that person kicked Sokka's weapon away, followed by a kick in his face.
