A/N - Axel's Jeep^^

KATE
A large silver Jeep rolled into my driveway right at four and I immediately knew that it was Axel's. Sure enough, I watched as the door opened and his head popped out. I quickly duck out of the way before he could see me peering at him through the window.
A few moments later, he knocked on the front door and I yelled, "Dad, he's here!"
My dad came down the stairs and opened the door. "Hello, you must be Axel, come on in!"
Axel glanced at me nervously and followed my father into the kitchen, taking a seat at the table. "Hello, Mr. Ross."
My father smiled at Axel's politeness, I could tell he liked him already. I took a seat beside Axel, my knee brushing against his, he put a hand on my knee, keeping it there. Thankfully, my father didn't notice this.
"Kate's told me that you two work together. Tell me, how do you like it there?"
Axel cleared his throat. "Well, it's a good job, I can't complain."
My father nodded. "Now, where will you be taking Kate?"
Axel glanced in my direction before looking back at my father. "I wanted to show her around town since she's new here."
My father nodded again, smiling softly. "And what time will you have her back?"
Axel glanced at me and I placed my hand over his underneath the table, where it still rested over my knee. "No later than seven, sir."
My father smiled, taking Axel's hand. Axel quickly removed his own hand from my knee so that my father wouldn't notice it.
"You seem like a very nice man, Axel. Take good care of my daughter. I'm trusting you." He stated firmly.
"Yes, sir," Axel said, getting up.
"You two have fun!" My father called behind us.
I grabbed my phone off the sofa and waved goodbye, shutting the front door behind me.
"Well, that went well," Axel announced, sounding surprised.
I smiled up at him. "Yeah, it did. You impressed him."
"Did I?" Axel asked, opening his car door.
"Yeah, you definitely did," I replied as I hopped inside.
I strapped the seatbelt into place and breathed in the scent of Axel's car. It smelled faintly of his cologne and dog hair.
"You have a dog?" I asked him, noticing the short brown hairs all over the backseat.
Axel laughed. "Yeah, I have a chihuahua."
As we pulled out of my driveway, Axel turned on the radio, and I watched as his phone connected to the aux. "Here, pick a song," he said and handed me his phone.
I scrolled through his playlists until I found a song that I liked and hit play.
"You know this song?" Axel asked, sounding impressed.
I nodded. "Yeah, I used to listen to it when I was little."
When it hit the chorus, Axel and I both began singing along.
I quickly found that I'd become more comfortable in his presence and I was no longer shy or quiet as I had been before. I looked over at him, his eyes were light as he lip sang along to the lyrics. He seemed happy in my company.
"You're a good driver," I stated, complimenting him.
Axel glanced at me and smiled. "Thanks, Katie."
I blushed the way I always did when he called me that.
Finally, Axel pulled into a parking spot to what looked like a conservation trail. We both stepped down from his car, shutting the doors behind us.
Axel came around and took my hand. "Welcome to your first tour destination."
