KATE
"Hey, did you guys find everything?" Amy asked as we walked over to the dress section.
"Yeah, but I really want Kate to try on some more revealing clothes, I mean, look at her body. Why wouldn't she want to show that off?" Corey said, stating the argument that we'd been having since we'd left the perfume station.
Amy nodded. "I mean, she does have a nice figure, but it's really up to Kate. But if I were you, Kate," she said, turning to me, "I would listen to Corey, it's so hot here and it's only going to get hotter."
I nodded, knowing she was right. "Okay, fine, but I'm only getting a few revealing things. I don't need my dad coming after me," I joked.
Corey nodded, laughing. "Okay, only a few things," she said, sounding pleased with herself.
We ended up getting a few cute rompers and dresses short enough for my mother to not approve of. But she wasn't there, so why would I care?
Once we were done shopping and I'd paid for my new clothes, Corey took my hand and pulled me into a Sephora.
"Trust me, your new boy toy will thank me later," Corey said. "Also, I'll even pay. That's how much I care."
I smiled. "Okay, knock yourself out."
Corey squealed excitedly and took me to the eye makeup section.
Once she'd gone through every makeup stand in the store, tossing various colors and shades into the small Sephora basket, along with brushes, she asked, "And, now, my final question is... do you have a makeup bag?"
I shook my head. "Yea, but it's pretty full with stuff I've never used."
Corey nodded and pulled a tan one off a shelf and it glittered under the harsh store lights. "This should be big enough," she stated and put it into the basket.
"Oh, wait, I almost forgot," Corey declared, and I internally groaned.
"Mascara," Corey said.
I followed her over to another aisle and she dropped a pink mascara tube into the basket along with a tool that looked a lot like pliers.
"What in the hell is that?" I asked, picking up the tool.
"Eyelash curler," Corey stated, sounding amused.
I put the tool back into the basket and followed her over to the checkout. "Let me go grab one more thing," she said as I took our place in line. "Trust me, you'll thank me later!" she declared.
I rolled my eyes and watched as she headed back over to the lipstick section. She came back seconds later carrying a thick clear tube of thick light pink lipgloss.
She put it into the basket along with a few other things she found along the shelves as we waited.
Amy caught up with us soon after Corey had paid and smiled at me. "Like my makeup?" She asked, fluttering her eyes.
I laughed. Her lips were bright pink and she was wearing purple eyeshadow. Corey glanced at her before bursting out into laughter. "Amy, you look like a clown. God, let me take a picture of this so I can send it to Kyle, hold still."
Amy, oblivious to Corey's poking fun of her, stroke a pose. Corey just laughed harder, tears pouring down her cheeks. "God, this is fucking hysterical."
She stuck her phone back into her pocket and linked her arm with mine, Amy smiling to herself as she walked closely behind us.
"Kate, bring your makeup bag to school tomorrow and I'll do your makeup for you. Trust me, that boy you like, whatever his name is, won't be able to take his eyes off of you," Corey declared.
"Sure," I replied, smiling.
