KATE
Once it got somewhat dark outside, Axel took me back out to his car, his lips spreading apart in a smile. We sat down in the backseat of his car, the only light coming out of the streetlamps placed in front of the mall.
He wrapped his arm around my neck and I snuggled up close to his side, tracing his abs beneath his shirt with my fingers.
"It's your turn, Katie," Axel said, a smile evident in his voice.
I nodded. "Okay, um, have you ever had a girlfriend? Like before me?"
"Yeah, I had three," he said, closing his eyes while I continued running my fingers over his skin.
"And you never kissed any of them?" I asked him, surprised.
"Nope. I didn't date any of them for longer than a month," he admitted, twirling a strand of my hair around his finger.
"Wow, really? Why not?"
"That's enough questions from you, it's my turn now," he stated, running his thumb along my cheek and I found myself leaning into his touch.
"What about you? Any boyfriends from New York I should know about?"
I shook my head, holding back the urge to laugh. "Nope. None."
"Guys didn't throw themselves at you? I'm surprised, you're fucking beautiful," Axel said in disbelief.
I blushed. "I never said they didn't throw themselves at me, I just wasn't interested in any of them."
"Why not?"
"I guess I was just waiting for you," I said with a wink. "It's your turn now, babe."
"So, a guy's never... you know, touched you?" Axel asked, sounding shy.
I shook my head. "Nope. You're the only one. I mean, I have danced with a guy, but that was at a dance in middle school and it didn't mean anything."
Axel nodded "What if a guy were to touch you, would you let them?"
I smiled, laying my head on his shoulder. "If the guy wasn't you, then no. I would not."
Axel pressed a kiss against my temple, clearly pleased with my answer. "Your turn, babygirl."
"Has a girl ever... you know, touched you?" I asked him, avoiding his eyes shyly.
"Yeah, one of my exes did, but I didn't like it much. They did it in public so I was too uncomfortable to really enjoy it," he admitted.
I nodded, understanding. "I see."
He slid me onto his lap and I relaxed against his chest, his chest warm and soft beneath mine. "You're so light, do you even eat?" He asked.
"Is that your question?" I replied, unable to hide the smile in my voice.
He chuckled. "No, I'm stalling because I can't think of another. Actually, I take that back, I have one but I'm too scared to ask."
I smiled and sat up, looking into his eyes. "Ask me, it's okay. I won't be mad."
Axel shook his head. "It's not that... you're just so innocent..." he admitted, his voice trailing off.
I leaned in closer so that my eyes were level with his and pressed a kiss to his forehead making him groan.
What the fuck? How does a kiss hurt?
"Fuck, are you okay?" I asked him, making him smile.
"I'm fine. I've wanted you to do that for a while," he revealed, closing his eyes.
"What do you so badly want to ask me, Axel?"
He sighed and pressed his arms against my back so that my chest was pressed up against his once again.
"Would you ever let me touch you?" He asked, sounding shy and curious at the same time.
I blushed and looked away from him shyly. "You mean like... now?"
He released a sigh and placed his hands against my face, forcing my eyes to meet his. "Yes."
I felt self-conscious, but at the same time, I felt safe with him and that I could trust him, so I took a deep breath and said, "Go right ahead."
