Y/N POV

Our eventful weekend ended, and Daniel had to go back to school. My ankle's recovering faster and I'm not limping anymore. I got up from bed around 7, and heard Daniel in the kitchen. I rushed out of my room in my pajamas to find him sitting on a stool with his backpack on.

"What are you doing?" I ask, seeing the tired expression on his face.

"I missed the bus." He says blankly.

"Okay, you're not gonna drive?" I look out to Christian's car in the driveway. He shakes his head.

"I don't have my license yet, I missed the day of my test."

"Okay, well, I'll drive you." I say, reaching for the keys on the counter. He stops my hand, and looks at me.

"I'm already late, what's the point of even going?" He says, putting his bag down.

I take his bag and hand it back to him, "You're going. Better late then never." He starts to laugh to himself. "What?"

"Sorry y/n, I just can't take you seriously when you're in your pajamas like that." He laughs a little harder, I lightly smack his shoulder and roll my eyes.

"Shut up, you know you like it." He shuts up. Yeah, that's right Daniel James Seavey, don't think I don't see you looking at me every now and then. He takes his bag and I put on my slides. We walk out to driveway, and Daniel locks the door. I start the car as Daniel pulls up the directions to his school for me. The drive took 15 minutes until we pulled up to the front of his school. It was big, a little bigger than my school, but still humongous.  Daniel stays glued to his seat, keeping his eyes on the road.

"Well, are you gonna go?"

Startled, he says, "Yeah, in a minute." Still doesn't move.

"Daniel? You alright?"

"What? Oh, y-yeah. I'm fine." He keeps his eyes away from the school. I take his hand, his attention goes to me.

"You're gonna do alright, okay. Who cares if you were gone for a minute? What matters is you're back, and when you get home, I'll be there. And if you're day sucks, you can blame me for jinxing it with this corny pep talk." A small smile grows on both our faces. I let go of his hands put them on the wheel, "Now, get outta here giraffe." He rolls his eyes with a smile and walks out of the car. I watch him go inside, and drive off.

I get home and log on to my laptop to start my schoolwork. I get 20 messages from Brooke and Hannah from the last hour with the same 4 questions.

Han - where are you? are you seriously skipping?

Brooke - are you sick? whats going on?

I drop my phone on the couch, shaking my head. I can't believe I forgot to tell them. I sit down to contain my stress and pick up my phone to text them back.

Sorry guys...it's a long story. Text me during your lunch break <3

I put my phone done, grab my laptop, and start my assignments. It hasn't even been a week since I left, and my teachers are already giving me tons of work. I don't know how I'll ever get used to this.
