Y/N POV
I handed my essay in just before midnight last night. I cried myself to sleep with tears of joy and relief, proud of myself. It's not often where I have spilled my heart out for all to see. I ending up sleeping in the next morning, too tired to function. I wake up around 10:30 to an empty house.
After getting ready and eating breakfast, I go to my spot in the living room. My books and laptop are still in the same place as before, with one addition. There's a folded peace of paper on top of my laptop. My name is written on the front in neat handwriting, I open the piece of paper and read the small words.
Morning Beautiful,
Hope you had a good night sleep. After school meet me at our homecoming spot.
See you soon ❤

I smile at the simple note, keeping it close to my heart. I go into my room and put the note in the shoe box that held my homecoming shoes. I plan to have this box full by the time I go home, and that's when reality hit me again. Home. I'm eventually going to have to go back. My heart sinks a little thinking of leaving LA. Immediately a pang of guilt comes through me. Shouldn't I be at least a little excited to go home someday? Like Christian said, it will always be home, right?
I push my thoughts aside as I start my schoolwork. Online school has been getting easier, but I still have less motivation. English is the only subject where I've been doing amazing in, the rest, I'm either doing amazing or barely passing. I don't know how much longer I can keep up with it.
I finish my classes just before lunch, which is perfect. I get a call from Brooke and immediately pick up. I haven't talked to them since I went dress shopping, it'd be wrong not to fill them in on what's going on. In a split second, my phone has both their faces filling my screen.
"Hey guys!" my enthusiastic and excited tone doesn't faze them. "What's wrong?"
"Y/n, we're so sorry. We had no idea about Ethan." Hannah says, with sympathy in both their eyes.
"How do you guys know? Did Jenkins show my essay?" I can't believe what I'm hearing. I told my own boyfriend the essay was personal, shouldn't my own teacher know that my essay was very personal?
"Jenkins didn't tell us. You mom did, she wanted us to check on you." I feel emotionless. I don't know if I should be relieved or upset.
"Well, you guys don't have to check on me. I'm fine, I'm doing great actually." I say, changing the subject.
"Okay, y/n. We believe you. So what's new?" Hannah says. My face softens, thankful for such understanding friends.
"Yeah, how was homecoming?" Brooke asks. I explain my whole week to them, not leaving out any details. I told them everything, from the homecoming parade to Ethan and Daniel. My story was interrupted about 15 times by screams and squeals, my smile doesn't fade while I talk.
"Aww, y/n! That's so cute, I'm so happy for you." Brooke says.
"I told you it wouldn't be too long before you guys would date." Hannah says, raising a brow. I roll my eyes at her intuition.
