daniel's pov
Christmas Day.
We spent the days before Christmas much different than I expected. Mrs. y/l/n started wedding planning with Bailey. Ethan and Mr. y/l/n caught up on some father and son bonding time. And me and Y/n went to tour lots of places in town. It snowed hard last night, making it the perfect day to go sledding.
We planned on having a Christmas dinner tonight, so we have the rest of the day to ourselves. I woke up early today, earlier than I usually do. I got ready for the day, putting on some jeans and a hoodie. I walk over to Y/n's room, expecting her to be up already. I get to her door and knock. A tired 'come in' welcomes me inside.
"Merry Christmas princess." I say, sitting on the edge of her bed. She sits up, yawns, and stretches.
"Dani?" she asks groggy, causing me to laugh a little.
"Yep, it's me." she throws a throw pillow at me, aiming at my face. Luckily, I catch it before it does.
"It's too earlyyyy." she groans. I laugh as I help her out of bed. She sits up and moves next to me, putting her head on my shoulder.
"Put your head on my shoulderrr." I sing, she giggles as we sway to my singing.
"That's not a Christmas song." she says, still tired.
"Yeah, but nothing wrong with a little Paul Anka, right?" She laughs again. I tap her knee, and then tap on my back.
"Get on." I tell her, a grin forms on her face. She gets on my back and I take her to her closet. "Okay, meet me in the car in 15?" her jaw drops.
"15? 20." she negotiates. She then pleads with her eyes.
"Fine. 20." a smile quickly pops up on her face, her eyes light up. I let her be and go downstairs to prepare some things for our date.
>>> 25 minutes later
I'm in the car in the drivers seat this time. I finally got my license after Y/n left, there was no way I was going to graduate without getting it. She finally walks out of the house, locking the door on her way out. She got in the seat next to me, all bundled up for the weather.
"You're late." I tease, seeing her cheeks already get rosy from the cold.
"Shut up, it's 5 minutes." she laughs as I slowly back out of the driveway. She situates herself in a comfortable position, fixing her hair in the mirror in front. "So, what's the plan for today? Other than freezing."
I laugh at her complaints, "It's good, trust me." She rolls her eyes while turning on the radio. 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is the first thing that plays. She mouths the lyrics to the song dramatically, fully jamming out. It's the cutest thing she's done all day.

3 hours later we get to our little woods. Once she sees me park at the same spot we parked last time, her eyes light up. She doesn't say anything but smile, I smile back while turning off the engine. I get out of the car, opening the trunk. She runs over, seeing a big, wooden sled take up all the space in the trunk.
"How did you get this? I haven't seen this in years!" She asks in awe, helping me pull out the sled.
"I had a little help." I say with a grin. We get the sled out and drop it on the ground. I take the rope and drag it as she leads the way. "After you, my lady." She smiles and skips ahead of me playfully.
We get to the top of a hill, look at the pile of snow below us. I put the sled down and sat on top of it, she sits behind me, wrapping her arms around me.
"You ready?" I ask, looking over my shoulder, seeing the excitement on her face. She tightens her grip around me, smiling like a little kid who just got a present. "Okay, hold on. 1...2...3!!"
I push the sled off and we're racing down the snow covered hill. Snow flies past us in our way, flying up the side of the sled. It almost felt like we were flying, the rest of the world below us. I don't want this feeling to end. We finally reach the bottom, greeted by a heap of snow. We crash right into it, submerged under. I get out of the pile, but I can't find Y/n anywhere. My heart begins to beat what feels like lightning speed. I kick the surrounding snow out of my way.
"Y/n? Y/n!?" I search through the snow. Nowhere. Panic rises inside of me. And that's when I see her. She's on the other side of the pile of snow, her back face down on the ground. I run over to her to find half her body covered in snow. Her eyes are shut closed. "No no no no no, no. This isn't happening." I kneel down next to her and carry her into my arms, cradling her back and forth.
"C'mon, princess, wake up. C'mon." Nothing. My eyes begin to water, my throat feels dry. "Come on, this isn't funny. Babe, wake up." I keep cradling in my arms. Her eyes then suddenly open, a small smile on her face.
"Prank!" she yells, lightly throwing a snowball in my face. I don't dodge it this time, I'm too shocked to move. I drop her back on the ground in shock.
"You are so annoying!" Whining and laughing at same time. I throw another snowball back at her. It's a full on war right now. We each carry heaps of snow in our hands, throwing it at each other. We keep going at it, snowball after snowball. I'm about to call a timeout when she throws a fastball at my face, hitting me right in the center of my face. Her hands cover her mouth, she's surprised at her actions. "You are so- I am going to get you!" I yell, running after her. She runs away screaming and laughing. I begin to catch up to her, one step away from getting her. Once I'm in arms reach, I tackle her down to the ground.
"Daniel!" she screams, laughing hysterically as I pin her down. I got her lying down on the snow, me on top of her - she still continues to laugh. I just look at her joy, her beauty, she's perfect. She goes silent, smiling back at me. "What?"
"Nothing." I say, but then I look into that sparkle in her eyes. "Everything." Her smile grows bigger as she pulls me down closer, pressing her lips against mine.
And in that moment, nothing else mattered in the world.
'Cause that moment was everything.
She is everything.
~
We got back to the house just in time for Christmas dinner. We all sat around the dining room table, all dressed up in red and green. I sat in between Y/n and Ethan, Bailey next to Ethan. Bailey's family joined us for Christmas dinner too. She has a 6 year old sister named Lilia, she's the cutest 6 year old I've ever met. Her twin brother, Adam, joined us too, he seems cool. It was cool seeing the families meet for the first time. Although, it did make me miss my family a lot more than I already did.
After dinner, we played Christmas songs on the piano. Mrs. y/l/n played some songs, Lilia asked me to dance with her countless times. Of course, I couldn't resist - so I let her step on my shoes as we danced to every song played. She ended up falling asleep on the couch by 8:30, leaving one last song for me and Y/n. I find her in the kitchen, refilling the punch bowl. She sees me, leaning against the counter-top, facing my direction. I walk up to her, putting my hands around her waist.
"Looks like you're having a good time." she says with a warm smile, looking over at the sleeping Lilia on the couch.
"Don't worry, you're still number one." I tell her, she laughs. "So, would you like to have this dance?" She looks at me, almost surprised.
"You saved a dance for me?" I smile at her, laughing at her shock.
"Of course I did! Come on." I say, taking her hand, leading her to the living room. White Christmas is playing on the piano, courtesy to Mrs. y/l/n. I put her arms around my neck, and mine around her waist. "So, how's your Christmas so far." I ask.
"It's perfect." she says, looking around the room to see everyone's smiling faces. "Everyone's happy, it hasn't been like this in a while. What about you?"
"Same here. It's perfect." I look back into her eyes, smiling. "You're perfect." A warm smile grows on her face as she puts her head on my shoulder as we sway to the music. I kiss the top of her head as we dance the night away. "Merry Christmas gorgeous." I tell her.
"Merry Christmas Dani."
