I fell down on the couch with a thud, she looked over at me with a questioning look.
"I've given up on life," I told her.
She just hummed in acknowledgement.
"You're not going to tell me that I shouldn't give up on life?"
"No."
She slid into the spot next to me, I rested my head on her shoulder.
"I know that every once and a while, you like to think you've given up on the world." She kissed the side of my head. "Just promise me one thing?"
"What?"
"That you'll never give up on yourself."
I smiled back at her. "I promise."
