Christmas break had finally come to an end, I couldn't wait to go back to school and see all of my friends again. Sure it had only been two weeks, but it still had felt like forever. In truth, I wanted to see her the most.
I found my friends quickly, but I hadn't yet seen her. I don't know why I expected to see her right away, it wasn't even like we were really dating yet. We had only gone on two dates, and nothing had happened. She had warned me that she might get scared off and never talk to me again, I was beginning to worry that was what had taken place.
Then I saw her, I smiled at her expecting her to walk away with a small wave. I didn't really expect much at all. I couldn't really blame her if she didn't talk to me ever again, she had warned me after all.
But that was not what happened at all. A smile came across her face as she spotted me, her face turning bright red. She began to make her way over to me. Suddenly she was half running.
I laughed lightly, holding out my arms to go hug her.
And then she jumped right into my arms. I somehow managed to catch her. She giggled, her hair falling in front of her eyes.
I laughed putting her down, she pushed her hair behind her ears, exposing her right red face. She began chewing her lip nervously and was staring down at her shoes. She was probably regretting jumping into my arms, I had certainly not been expecting it.
"Hey," I said, smile wide on my face.
She smiled up at me. "I missed you." She said, toying with her hair.
"I missed you too," I admitted.
She was so awkward, she wasn't even sure if she should have jumped into my arms. But I couldn't be happier, she was the cutest person I had ever met, and I was suddenly glad I had not lost her. I had truly missed her, and I wasn't sure what I would have done if she hadn't missed me too.
