I rolled over, expecting to find her next to me, but she wasn't there. I blinked a few times, fully waking myself up. I looked at the time, it was late, and I wondered why she was up.

I got up, throwing my jacket on. I walked into the kitchen and found her sitting on the steps to our backyard. She had left the door open, she was just sitting there, staring up at the night sky.

"You left me," I said.

She turned around and noticed me, but she didn't say anything.

I sat down beside her, and she made no objections.

I didn't ask her what was wrong, I probably should have. But I was too tired. Instead, we just sat looking into the dull, city night sky.
