"Wake up," I said, shaking her awake.
She moaned, rolling over.
"What time is it?" she asked.
"5:30."
"Why did you wake me up? It's the weekend. That means sleeping in."
"Come on," I said. "I want to show you something."
She moaned, hiding underneath the blankets.
"Please," I asked innocently.
"Fine." She made a great deal of noise as she got out of bed.
I grabbed a few sandwiches and jumped in the car. She jumped in the car after me, still wearing half of her pyjamas.
"Where are we going?" She asked.
"You'll see."
I drove down to the lake and we jumped out. We sat down at the dock, I offered her a sandwich.
"Did you wake me up just for a picnic?"
"No," I told her.
I was quiet for a bit as I waited. "I woke you up for this."
The sun was just peeking out over the horizon. It's orange hue lit up the lake and made the clouds pink.
"You woke me up to see a sunrise." She said with a slight smile.
"Yep."
"I hate you."
"I know," I said as I wrapped a blanket around us, as we just sat there simply enjoying the sunrise.
