"You want to what now?" I asked, giving her a perplexed look.

"I don't mind going to church tomorrow." She said with a shrug.

"Why though?"

"Your mom called."

"My mom called, and you forgot to tell me?"

"She was just checking up that we were still coming over tomorrow. But she was saying how she had church in the morning, and I said that we would meet her there."

"Why did you say that?"

"I don't know, you always said you didn't mind church. I mean, I've never been before. Might be interesting."

"It's pretty boring honestly."

"But you liked the singing."

"Honestly, the only reason I went in the end."

"But you've always been interested in finding a new church to go to."

"Yeah, a new church. Not hey, let's go with my mom to her church."

"It can't be that bad."

"It's not."

"You're not mad at me, are you?" She asked.

"No, I'm just surprised you want to go to church."

"Though it might make your mom happy."

"Oh, it will. You do realize we have to wake up early tomorrow, right?"

"How early?"

"Nine."

She groaned, "Great."

"Babe." I shook her awake as the alarm went off. "You have to get up, remember you promised my mom we would go to church today."

"Okay, she groaned into the pillow, just two seconds."

"I'll get your breakfast ready."

I got up beginning to pour cereal into two separate bowls. She sat down at the table, looking drowsy.

"Do I have to wear a dress or something?" She asked.

I laughed at the question. "No, it's not that old fashioned. But my mom always liked it when we wore nicer looking clothing to church."

"Okay." She said, eating her cereal.

We both got dressed for church. She wore a cute top and a skirt. I wore some dress pants, a simple top and a cardigan. We jumped in the car, and I drove to the church. I parked in the parking lot, we jumped out, shaking hands with the greeters as soon as we entered the church.

"It looks pretty busy." She commented.

I nodded. "Oh, we probably will be sitting in the front, by the way."

"Oh great, were going to be making a statement."

I laughed, "It will be fine."

We found my mother; sure enough, she was sitting in the front row. We sat down, and the church service was typical, we sang a few songs and listened to the message.

"That wasn't so bad." She whispered in my ear at the end of the service when we went to go get some coffee. "You were right; the songs were pretty cool. And the sermon was pretty interesting."

"You actually listened?"

"Isn't that what you're supposed to do?"

"I could never pay attention."

"It was kind of like a lecture in school."

"I guess so."

"It wasn't that weird."

"Well, I'm glad you didn't find it that weird."

"You know, I wouldn't be opposed to finding a church that we could go together."

I raised my eyebrow at her, curious to her saying this.

"As long as they were accepting of us, of course."

"Yeah," I said with a smile. "It would be pretty cool if we could find that."

"I'm sure there's a place out there. We should look when we get home."
