Namjoon's POV -

We're on break, as we work on our newest album. It's a studio one, which means I've been working on about 15 songs for the last month, trying to tie them all together. Most of these songs were started through the years, and one is coming back as far as 2013. The problem with using old samples, and previously abandoned songs, though, is that I realise just how shitty I used to be at producing. Every beat sounds wrong, but I can see the potential in them. I just need to be in the right mind frame to nail it perfectly.

What the fans don't know is that we have a time limit to get these songs finished and ready, plus the time to make the music videos and the choreography. I've got one more month left to tie these songs together, whilst also dancing and filming, plus taking all of the comeback photos. It's safe to say that there's a lot on my plate. Each year, the stress of getting it perfect gets worse and worse.

I unlock the door to my studio at 5am, having spent my first sleepless night for the first time this break. My mind wouldn't stop whirling around the different layers of each song, and how I can improve the vocals, small word changes that makes the song instantly more haunting and deep. I can't sleep when I can't stop focusing on these things. It happens with every comeback, but it's a little quicker than I expected this time.

I sit down at my desk, and turn each monitor on one by one. Each screen begins to power on, but the last one, the one that I use to record vocals, fizzles out. I frown, and smack the top of it with my hand, but there's no response. I give it another slap, and suddenly the screen comes loose and comes crashing down. I audibly groan, and slowly lift the screen. Just my luck, it's smashed.

"Oh for ..." I mumble, scrubbing my eyes with my hands. This is just my luck. Thankfully, I have everything saved on a USB. I plug it in and wait for it to load ... system error?

I click around the screen agitatedly, trying to find anything that will make the USB work. Finally, after rebooting the computer, it begins to load up. It'll only take ... 43 hours? For fuck's sake. There's so much saved on the USB it's going to take nearly two days to download. Breathe, Namjoon, we can work on other things.whilst we wait. I have 6 hours to work here until I have to go to dance practice. That gives me plenty of time to tie up a few things, and prepare the rest of the songs. At this moment, out of 17 songs, only three are truly ready. They've been made into choreographies, and music video boards are being made by the directors. Every day, they ask me if there's anything new for them to work on. The title track is finished, but the two leading songs are still safe in my files. The other two songs are solos - mine and Yoongi's - and each of our solo songs is getting a music video. Oh, it's going to be a busy comeback this time.

An hour slips past without me knowing. All I do is stare at my screen and move a couple of files around, my mind slipping in and out of different ideas and worries, none of which I can find the time to write down. As soon as I go to write it down, it slips away, and my mind fills with something else, and I can't focus back on what I want. I gasp, rubbing my face again, and finally open a music folder, pulling my headphones over my ears. The song plays over and over, and I stop it every five seconds or so, to edit different layers, or add new ones. Maybe it's just my tired brain, but I can never get it to sound quite right.
