Seokjin's POV -

One of the things I hate the most about being a celebrity is how many fans take their love way too far. The thing about being this popular is that there are fans who live on the same street as us. See us walking down the road to work every day. They are the respectful ones. The ones who are happy to see us. They may wave or bow, and then continue on their way. It's nice. No matter where we go, there's people who recognise us, and call out to us or try and take a picture. It's not awful, but it's not as respectful.

Then there's the fans who are obsessed with us. It's a good 50/50 split on where these fans come from. Half of them are Korean, and half of them are from the rest of the world. They become so entranced by us they start following us around. Stalking us.

It starts simply. They'll see a location to where we were/are, and go to that place in the hopes to see us. They'll be happy to share just that little space with us. They'll attend all the concerts, try to get to every meet and greet, just to see us. Soon, that won't be enough, and they'll try and catch us out. They'll hang around places they know we like going, like the Han river, and then follow us to the next place. They'll work in groups, or sometimes alone. They'll make maps of where we go, what we do. Soon, they'll show up to the BigHit studios, or our house. You'll see them in the same restaurant as us. They'll suddenly be interested in fishing at the exact same time as us.

It's hard to spot them. You're in the park, and you see a random person. That's how parks work, isn't it? Then, you'll go to a shop, and think you recognise a person in the same aisle as you, but you're not too sure. It could just be deja vu. Then, when you're walking home from work, you notice that exact same person following you home, even though it's two weeks later and you're not even on tour. That's when you realise you could be in danger.

It doesn't matter what the intentions of a stalker are. Some of them just want to be close to us. Some of them want to talk to us. Some of them want to touch us. And some of them want to do indescribable things. Things that have already happened to me.

When I was a teenager, I was watching the news, and saw a statistic on how often girls are sexually assaulted/harassed. I remember rolling my eyes, and thinking that it couldn't be that common. I had never seen a girl getting harassed, so how could it be as common as the TV was saying?

I get it now.

Personally, I find the foreign stalkers a little scarier than the Korean ones. The Koreans have a one up. They live closer. They speak our language. They see us on the news, get information a little faster, and are more likely to bump into us on the streets. The foreign fans, however, have to put in a lot more effort. Then, they fly all the way over here. Pay for hotels, rent, cars, all sorts of things, as well as buying info from crooks. They're more intense, just to get the same results. Although I think I could stick up for myself well in English, I'm not Namjoon, and that scares me too. They could corner me just through a language barrier.

We're rarely allowed to go anywhere on our own now. We always have to have security with us. Even just to get a drink from a corner shop we have to have someone come with us. There's no privacy, no independence. It hurts. I can't even go for a ride in my own car, just because people have followed our cars before. It's ridiculous.
