Namjoon's POV -
Everyone knows that I have sleep problems. I've had them since I was a little boy. As I've gotten older, the problems have gotten worse, to the point where I need a breathing machine whilst I sleep.
I had surgery last year, to help fix my deviated septum. It changed the shape of my nose, which has hurt my self-esteem a little bit. I did like the shape of my nose beforehand, however, I will take being able to breathe well over it any day.
I still need the breathing machine, because I still have sleep apnoea. Basically, I stop breathing whilst I sleep, and snore a lot. My parents knew I had it, but I only had the CPAP machine after joining BTS, because my snoring was disturbing the other boys when we all shared one room.
Since the surgery, and since getting the CPAP machine, my sleep has been much better, and I don't snore anywhere as much as I used to. I wake up feeling good, and I can concentrate a lot better now, but, if I come off the machine, I'll go back to the way I was.
So, my sleep is often disturbed, as you can tell. I've had night terrors, nightmares, sleep paralysis, you name it, I've had it.
However, there's one subject I haven't covered: sleepwalking. I've never sleepwalked in my life, until last month. We were preparing the new album when it began, so I guess it was down to stress. Let me tell you the story.
*
My alarm wakes me up just past 6am, ready for me to head to dance practice. Throughout the dorm, I can hear different alarm tones going off, as the other boys stir awake. One by one, they turn off, but I don't hear anyone move yet.
I stay lying in my own bed, waiting for my eyes to open properly. My window is open, and it's letting in a lot of cold air. I would feel cold, but my blanket is heavy, keeping me encased in heat. God, I don't want to get up.
I reach up to take my sleep mask off, but it's not there. I jab my nose in confusion, before turning to look at the CPAP machine. It's still on, but the mask lays abandoned on the floor, the strap open. If it doesn't recognise breathing, then it usually sets off an alarm, but it stays quiet. It must recognise no one is wearing it.
I switch it off, then pick up the mask, checking it over to make sure it's not broken. It looks fine, and the strap looks like it's been undone, rather than broken. Is it possible that I managed to take it off in my sleep?
I try to think back, wondering if maybe I got up to go to the toilet at some point, or if I got up to get some water, but my mind stays blank. I don't remember getting up at all. I've never taken it off before in my life, but, I guess there's a first time for everything.
I do notice that my head hurts a little bit as I get up. That's pretty normal if I wasn't supported properly whilst sleeping. I rub my forehead gently, yawning. I've pretty much just set myself up for a bad day. Why would I do something like that?
"Hey!"
Jungkook yells from the kitchen. He sounds both scared and confused. His tone is enough to make me get up quickly, forgetting about my machine. I rush into the kitchen, to be faced with all of the cupboard doors open, the cutlery spread across the kitchen tabletop in size order. It's too neat for it to have been some form of burglary.
Jungkook looks at me with wide eyes. "What on earth is going on?"
I shake my head a little, confused. Who's managed to do this without waking any of us up? "Did you hear anything last night?"
