I rolled my eyes. I had the dinner set up to deliver Kira's favorite kind of cake with the words 'Happy 6 months' on it. After that, she would know that this entire thing was meant for us. Then we'd have fun dancing because she loved it so much, and I was much better than I use to be. Then end it with a romantic walk on the beach, where I had Corey and Jake setting up a small picnic before we got there, just a few snacks because we wouldn't really be hungry. I was thinking about telling her 'I love you.' I wasn't sure if I would mean it, and that's why I was hesitant. I didn't believe in saying it before I meant it, but Kira had been telling me that she loved me for the past two months, with no return from me. I felt like I did love her, I think. I wasn't anall consuming feeling that I had with Terra. I now realized that I did love her, way more than I could have ever thought possible. Maybe that's why it was so hard with Kira. I kind of closed myself off after Terra. I didn't want to open myself back up to that feeling, for it to be snatched away from me. Of course, with Terra it was automatic. I think it may have even been love at first sight, I just didn't realize it. I had never believed in that before. I felt like you had to truly know someone to love them, but with her...I don't know what it was. "Colby, did you hear me?" Kira's voice broke through my thoughts and I gave her a small guilty smile. "No, I'm sorry. Was just thinking. What's up?" "What were you thinking about?" She asked me, staring up at me with those familiar aqua eyes. I shook my head and smiled. "About how I got so lucky to be able to call you mine," I replied, wrapping my arms around her waist. She rolled her eyes, and blushed. "Okay Casanova, hurry and get ready. We have to leave soon." She twisted out of my arms and went to walk back to her mirror where she was doing her makeup. I slapped her ass before she got out of my reach. She yelped and jumped a little, before glaring back at me. I held up my hands innocently. Again, she rolled her eyes, and swung her long blonde hair hair back as she walked away. Yeah, I think I did love her. I could see myself making a family with her. Kira was easy to live with, to get along with. Okay, technically, I didn't live with her. She stayed over at my place with the guys a lot, and I stayed here sometimes. We were together about 70 percent of the week. Sure, we had our problems, but what couple didn't. Even Sam and Jake had problems with their relationship. Corey and Devyn had even split up before eventually falling back together. I saw that coming a mile away though. I was happy for them. With Terra, it was hard. The emotions were too strong, and we were too swept up in each other to try and figure things out. Too young and circumstances just didn't allow us to try. With Kira, she was here, she was with me. When we did argue, we always made up the same day and it was usually about something trivial, like me leaving the toilet seat up. She was mad at me right now for supposedly not remembering our anniversary. But she wasn't willing to let it mess up the 'celebration' for Sam and I. She cared about me, loved me, and wasn't afraid to show it. Where as I felt like Terra held herself back from me, just as I did to her. There was fault from both of us. Maybe it was a learning situation for both of us. Who knew? I finished up getting ready and let out a slow whistle when I saw Kira completely finished. Holy Shit but she was hot. "You look so damn hot," I said, in a low voice, while I pulled her to me, wrapping one arm around her waist. I pulled her hair back so that her neck was exposed to me. She moaned a little as I started laying light kisses against her skin, and nipping and sucking in alteration. "Colby," she breathed out, pushing against my chest. I stopped what I was doing and looked down into her eyes. "Stop it. We have to leave soon. If you keep doing that, we won't," she replied. I chuckled lowly and lowered my lips to hers, lingering there, letting my tongue swipe over her bottom lip. "I'm perfectly okay with that," I murmured against her mouth. She pushed back away from me again, breathing heavily. "No. We can't. Stop. We have to go. This is important. You and Sam deserve this, and you won't bail on him." I watched her eyes, seeing that she fully meant what she was saying. Yeah, I think I did love her. I kissed her quickly one more time, before grabbing my black jean jacket out of the closet. "Okay, we'll save it for later. But there will be a later," I replied, winking at her. She caught her breath, and pressed her fingers to her lips. I got a flashback of another aqua eyed girl doing that, as I told her goodbye. I shook the memory from my head and took Kira's hand in mine as we headed out the door. We took my car, and headed to the restaurant. Everyone from the friend group was there, and we had an amazing dinner. When the waiter brought over the cake, and set it in front of her, she looked confused. "What?" she asked, looking over to me. I smiled. "Just read the cake," I replied. She looked back down at it, then I heard her sniffle a little. "Oh Colby," she looked up at me, teary eyed. "You remembered." I grinned and hugged her to me. "Of course I did." "Okay, okay, enough with the mushy stuff," Jake said. "Let's dig in so that we can go party!" We all laughed and split the cake between us, then headed to the club.
