Chapter 18: Andrea's Debut

ANDREA

"Ang ganda ganda mo sisteret!"

"Oo nga! Mukha kang manika!"

Tuwang-tuwa ang mga baklang nag-ayos sakin. Hindi nila maalis ang tingin sakin at puro sila papuri.

Nginitian ko lang sila saka pinagmasdan ang sarili ko sa malaking salamin.

I'm wearing a gray sleeveless high neck beaded applique ball gown. Gustong-gusto ko siya because it's just simple but elegant. May leaf ends metallic belt din ito.

My hair is tied into a half up half down hairstyle with a beaded flower hair vine. Nakakulot ang bandang ialim nito at syempre nakalight make-up din ako.

Ang venue ng birthday party ko ay sa mansion ng grandparents ko sa side ni Mama. Madami naman ang guess rooms dito kaya okay lang kahit dito matulog ang ibang bisita.

Pinaayos naman ako ng mga bakla para sa photoshoot. Nakailang kuha din sila bago matapos.

Bumukas ang pinto at iniluwa nun si Mama at Tita Cassie na may dalang camera. Emosyonal nila akong nilapitan.

"Waaah! Ang gaganda naman ng anak namin!" Ani Tita Cassie at pinagkukuhanan ako ng picture sa hawak niyang camera. Todo ngiti at pose naman ako.

Lumapit si Mama sakin at niyakap ako. Pero agad niya ding akong pinakawalan.

"Hays. Dalaga na talaga ang baby ko." Nakangiting sabi ni Mama habang pinagmamasdan ako. Nilahad niya ang palad sakin pagkatapos. "Tara na? Malapit ng magstart ang party mo."

Tumango ako sakanya. Inalalayan nila ako pareho ni Tita Cassie palabas at hinatid sa may terrace sa gilid ng garden. Dito muna kasi ako hangga't hindi pa ko ipapakilala.

Kitang-kita ko mula dito ang kabuuan ng garden na ngayon ay bongga ang ayos. May maliit na stage pa. Sobrang dami ng tao. Sinubukan kong hanapin kung saan sina Euha at nakita ko sila sa table na malapit sa main stage. Madilim dito sa pwesto ko kaya paniguradong hindi nila ako mapapansin.

Bumaba naman ulit si Mama at Tita Cassie sa garden dahil magsisimula na ang party.

"A very good evening to each and everyone and welcome to Andrea's 18th Birthday. We would like to thank everyone for gracing this very momentous occasion because as they say, you only get to be 18 once." Panimula ng emcee.

"We would like to acknowledge the key persons who took a great part in making this joyous affair possible. Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the Parents of our lovely debutante, Mr. Ynnos and Mrs. Amanda Henares! A big round of applause please. Thank you very much."

Umakyat sa stage sina Mama at Papa. Binigyan naman sila ng mic ng emcee.

"Good evening to each and everyone, I would like to welcome you in our daughter's special day. It is our pleasure to have you here as our guests as we all celebrate the 18th birthday of Andrea. God has given us a wonderful bundle of joy in the person of our birthday celebrator. Andrea is a blessing and a gift to our family. A child full of potential and a future ahead of her. She is our only child. An angel. A queen to her parent's eyes. We all wanted the best for her. With that, let the celebration begin! Thank you so much for coming. Enjoy!"

Napangiti ako sa sinabi ni Mama.

"Thank you so much Mr. And Mrs. Henares. So! Some of us have been fortunate enough to see Andrea grow and blossom into a beautiful and fine lady, but for others, here is a sneak peak of her 18 years of existence in one very short movie. Dim the lights and let us all enjoy this video that we prepared for her."
