"Oh Y/n-ah, I forgot to ask for more kimchi back there, could you bring some for us?" you are placing their food when Yunho call you out like that.

You just stare at him blankly before you nod at him and leave. You really didn't expect that, you try to keep the minimum interaction with him, yes him, the next head director that every workers need to respect with all their values. 

"You know her? woah even a fine gentleman like you made friends with uh- how do I say.. the unfortunate one?" you heard the man when you're still a few steps away from their table. Your ears perked up and you really want to stop to hear what Yunho will say but you just keep going.

You get back to their table with a plate of kimchi, you're putting it down keeping your smile before telling them to enjoy their food. You don't really know what to feel; pissed or hurt, but you're good at hiding it. "Well she's quite pretty, I see you have a good taste but don't just go for the looks Yunho-ya, you kno-"

"Uncle let's just eat, we don't have much time till the conference starts" Yunho cut him off and then you continue with your steps back to the counter. You have known that this day will come when people look down on you but you're caught off guard when the person tell it on your face. You've never experienced that and honestly you don't know how to react. Sure it hurts especially hearing it yourself. You've just meet good people after the incident years ago luckily, they're understanding and kind to you because what you know very well is to be kind with everyone else too. You eventually have a strong heart but it's been long since you felt unappreciated.

On the other hand, he was worried for you. He hope that whatever you heard from his uncle won't get to you. He did not expect that his uncle would say that, he's been a respectful elder when he's younger, maybe he's not anymore. /Fool!/ that's what he thought of himself while digging on his lunch unappetizing.

The clock nearly hit 4, you're checking the dining area when you heard your name being called. You turned to see the man again, Yunho's uncle. "Y/n-ssi, right?"

"Ah yes it's me, what brings you here, mr..?"

"You can call me mr. Yoon, I'm Yunho's uncle" he extend his hand for you to shake. You took his hand and introduces yourself properly.

"I'm here to relay my apology for what I've said about you earlier, I mean the kid asked me to. No, he's begging me so here I am. I'm sorry for my ignorance back then, if it upsets you in any way, I'm truly sorry. Sometimes I didn't think through before giving my opinion haha" he pats you in the back which makes you a little uncomfortable.

You didn't really felt his sincerity but you convinced him you're okay nonetheless. "That's okay mr. Yoon, I really appreciate that you even search for me to apologize." you said while bowing your back a bit at him.

"Hmm but really.. Are you just friends? He seemed really fond of you though.." before you can answer him he goes on "Perhaps, do you have other intention befriending him? I know I'm no one to judge but I can say this through experience.. If you're here to leech on his fortune, you should just disappear.." he emphasized the last word specifically. You looked at him speechless, not just he called you unfortunate and only got looks, now he's calling you a gold digger indirectly. 

You feel like blowing up, he didn't know who you are but already accuse you for unfavorable things that actually upset you. You want to defend yourself and defy all of his views about you but unfortunately a cat got your tongue. You're rooted there glaring at him until he speak up "I hope you get my message young lady, and you should know your place.." he said before he left.

--at the restaurant--

"Oh Y/n-ah, did you cry?" Seonghwa asked when you've just step inside the restaurant.

"Ah no, I must have caught some dust on my way.." you try as naturally as you could.

"Really? Let me see" he approached you but you take a step back making him stop.

"It's fine boss, really" you said showing your forced smile before going pass him to the staff room.

Seonghwa must have felt something wrong about you. But you seemingly can't bring it up to him, he need to find the chance to talk about it with you, he thought. For the rest of the day, you're just being quiet and took people's order without your usual greetings. Anybody in the restaurant including who have been regulars would've notice the change in your mood but no one has the gut to point that out, afraid you'll be even more low spirited. 

⭐ you encountered that finally, you've always been aware that something like that would happen to you. you try your best to be unbothered because what he had said isn't true at all but still his words got into you even if you try to block them.
