Three months passed but you don't see any sign of mrs. Jeong accepting you. She's still as cold as ever towards you. You also feel bad for Yunho as he's getting the same treatment from her as yourself. Yunho had asked his father to do something to help him but it came out to no avail. You keep your positive mind but now you're pondering if you're being too much 'courting' his mother. If you'd be her, you'd find yourself irritating as well. Mrs. Jeong always has a sharp comeback every time you try to get closer to her. You can still recall perfectly every hurtful comments dedicated for you. 

"You know it's not only your father who has helped this family right? Now that he's gone, you will soon be like him."

"Save your care from Yunho, why wasting your time knowing that I won't accept you in this family."

"Yunho has been getting on my nerves lately, he must be acting like this because of you, how pathetic."

"Keep coming as you like, but I suggest you to think ahead before it's too late to regret your act."

You didn't notice a single tear slip from your eyes until you heard your mom. "Not asleep yet sweetie?" you quickly wipe the tears before you turn to see her on your door.

"Uh yeah, I have something on my mind.." you faced her without looking at her from your bed.

"Just be yourself sweetie, I'm sure his family will like you~"

You're going to celebrate Chuseok* with his family tomorrow, you heard that a lot of his relatives will come, you don't know what to expect actually. (*Korean tradition of Thanksgiving) But you didn't really think about his other relatives when you still can't sort things out with his mother. Will your efforts all go in vain?

"Come on sweetie, you should sleep early, you got a big day tomorrow!" you just nod flashing her a little smile.

--next morning--

"I'm sorry that I can't spend the holiday with your mom.."

"Hmm.. that's fine, she's happy that I'm going with you~" you try to sounds excited. Honestly, you haven't being honest with Yunho since months ago. You told him that his mother might be opening up to you soon, it's a lie but you don't want to make him worried. It's been a month since he didn't approach his mother too, he felt like he wouldn't be able to contain his emotion if he's being neglected by his own mother for most of the time.

Arriving at their house, you see cars parked closely along the sidewalk. You're a bit nervous but you promised yourself to let out everything you had in your mind, you won't let her avoids you and you want to make yourself clear to her today.

All the relatives have left a while ago, it's now your chance to talk to mrs. Jeong, alone. You find it perfect as you see her in the backyard grooming some house plants. Yunho and mr. Jeong is in their room, you approached her when you're sure the room is clear, you wouldn't want anybody to interrupt you both.

"That's a beautiful plant mrs. Jeong~" she stop to see you from the corner of her eyes but she get back into her plants almost immediately.

"Just like human relationship.. It need a lot of efforts, care, patience, love..to keep it beautiful" you continued.

"Yunho.. He always told me how he envied my relationship with my mother, he always wonder when he would receive and give the unconditional love towards his mother. He always find it hard to understand you, you telling him to do everything made it even harder for him. But he never disliked you, he always think highly of you, he didn't want to disappoint you or mr. Jeong."

"Having me around for a few months, you must hate my guts.. I admit that I really hope for you to like me, but I guess that's not my focus anymore. He might forget me with time, but I'm sure he won't ever forget about you. I just wished that you would give Yunho a chance and listen to him, as a loving mother he always wanted."

"Relationship is exceptionally precious, it would be beautiful once people trusted each other, I hope he could be by your side for the longest time and you would be there for him as well.."

"I'm fine with you hating me, just don't let Yunho drift away from you, he's the perfect son every parents had wished for.. I hope the reason for his happiness is also because of you mrs. Jeong."

"Y/n-ah!" you heard Yunho called for you.

"Sorry for blabbering too much mrs. Jeong, I guess it's gonna be our last encounter, I don't want you to hate me more.." with that you left for Yunho who's calling from the patio. 

"What are you talking about with my mother?"

"It's a secret!" you stick out your tongue at him before you went inside to take your belongings.

"You seems happy, is it a good sign~?" 

"I won't tell you~~~"

You bid mr. Jeong goodbye as mrs. Jeong is currently still locking herself in the bathroom. Nobody is suspicious because it has happened before. You got to work next morning so Yunho decided to take you home early even if you've insisted him to stay longer.

⭐ you don't want to give up but what can you do now. you won't leave yunho though, you're just too out of yourself after stressing out about the ways to have mrs. jeong to give you a chance.
