It's Friday already, weekdays have flew so fast. Your mom still insists you to ask your boss for the early leave permit to celebrate your birthday with her this Sunday, you even thought of an excuse for your mom because you can't really bring yourself to ask for the permission to your boss.

"Oh Y/n why are you still here?"

"Ah mr. Baek, it's just.. I.. uh.."

"What is it? You have something to tell me?" /well just ask won't hurt right? you can't lie to your mom anyway../

"I have a family matter to attend to this Sunday evening, if it's okay with you, can I possibly leave early?" you asked cautiously.

"Is that so.. But you know how busy the restaurant get on Sunday right?" 

"Yeah I know mr. Baek, it's okay if it's not possib-"

"You may leave earlier" you turned your face to the source of the voice.

"Chef.." both you and mr. Baek look at the head chef who has just entered the kitchen.

"That's okay hyung, it's not like she will be absent for the whole day.." the head chef told mr. Baek.

"But it's better to have more hands, she has just started, might as well learn as much as she could"

"Hyung, she's been doing well, she's very diligent and hard-working, she even skipped her meal to fill up orders. The other chefs would manage, don't worry hyung"

"Well as long as you promise to manage well then I'm okay with it, but I hope there will be no request like this again, it hasn't been long since you're here." he said to the head chef and turned to you after.

"Yes I won't do this again, thank you mr. Baek!" you then face the head chef thanking him as well. 

"Eomma! I got to leave early this Sunday!" you said as you scoot closer to her as she watch her drama.

"See I told you they will give you the permission!"

"But mr. Baek wouldn't grant it if it wasn't for mr. Cha.. mr. Baek seemed a bit pissed too.."

"Nah it's okay sweetie, don't think of it too much, I know you can make them proud~" she said caressing your cheek lovingly. You just smile in return.

You look through your phone, your last chat was three days ago. He did reply to your texts even though it took him two days but you try to understand. He hasn't read the last text from you, maybe too busy because of the coming deadline. You wanted to cheer on him but you couldn't do anything in the meantime, the only way to cheer him is via message or call but you doubt that he'll be available. You know that sometimes people need their time alone, sometimes people wanted to resolve and sort out their problem on their own, not wanting others opinion, so you think that maybe he's been doing that or he's just too busy that you hope he doesn't stress himself out too much.

--sunday: 8 am--

"Eomma do you need anything else for later?"

"Oh yeah could you buy some drinks?"

"Drinks? We don't usually have it, hmm do you need a particular one?"

"Soft drinks are fine"

"Uh.. are you craving for them? You know we don't really like them.."

"..Yeah I was craving for them hahah, buy two cans of them okay?"

"Alright, anything for my mom~"

You get to leave at 6 still feeling bad because of the hectic dinner time but mr. Cha just told you off so here you are now on the way home with a bag of sodas and some snack for yourself. You're on your doorway when you see a huge pair of loafers that wouldn't belong to your mom. /Is there a guest?/

You open the door and you're greeted by a candle-lit cake held by Yunho. Just when you took a step in, your mom and he started singing you a happy birthday. You feel weak on your knees and bring your hand to your mouth as you're overwhelmed with joy. 

You stay in your place as they're coming closer, you wished in your heart and blow the candles. "Thanks mom.. And Yunho what are you doing here?" you said with the sparkle in your eyes.

"Why did you always ask me that whenever I'm here, of course to surprise you!"

You give your mom a hug while he settle the cake on the table. After that you guys chat over dinner, laughter filled the room, what a perfect day spent with your loved ones. 

You are walking with him to the park in your neighborhood, you want to spend some more time  before you send him off. You did not expect him to come, he even didn't congratulate you unlike the other guys who at least texted you, that makes you disappointed. But setting that aside, you're too happy right now as you finally see him after a while. You felt relieve to know that he has been doing well the past days and told you that everything is under control, he's so much sure that his father's position will be given to him soon.

"Thanks for today, this gonna be the most precious birthday in my life~" you said leaning playfully to his side which he then wrap his long arm around your shoulder.

"You know you deserved it.. Ah your present!" he said while pulling out something from his suit jacket.

"Please show me your left hand" he continued.
