"So, you... you left me because of them, Mommy? For them? Because I'm not your real daughter?" Liara asked, her eyes glimmering with sadness.

Umiling ako, trying to calm her. "Lexus, baby, bring Lexi to your room. May pag-uusapan lang kami," I instructed, and Lexus nodded before leaving.

Liara's voice was almost a whisper. "Am I a bad girl, Mommy? Is that why you left?"

Pinunasan ko ang luha niya at hinaplos ang buhok niya. "Of course, you're not, Liara. Remember this, baby. Even if I'm not your real mother, you'll always be my first princess, okay? When I first met you, I didn't know why, but I was so happy. I was supposed to be angry at your dad, but I couldn't. And as time passed, I found myself growing fond of you. It was the happiest moment of my life, being with your dad and you. You brought light to me," I said as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Hindi ako madaling sumuko, Liara. Alam mo na wala samin ng daddy mo ang affection, but I never complained. I was happy in that house, with you. Pero, mommy's hurt, baby. Sukong-suko na si mommy. I'm weak, and I can't handle what's happening anymore. Gusto kong makasama ka, kayo ni daddy mo, with our unborn child, pero hindi na umabot. Sobra na akong nasaktan. I can't take you, Liara. I can't bring you into my messy life. I'm sorry, baby. Please, don't be mad at me, okay?" I added, hugging her tightly.

I understood her pain. Ako nga naman ang mali. She's too fragile, and I hurt her. I hurt my daughter. And it's the worst pain a mother can feel. I just wanted happiness for my kids, pero ako ang nagdala ng lungkot sa kanila. I didn't want them to suffer, but they were hurting because of me—because of my secrets and my mistakes.

"Pero sana, Mommy, sinama mo na lang ako. I was hurt, too, because of Daddy's actions. Gusto kong sumama sa'yo. You can take me, Mom. I don't care about your messy life. I could've helped you with my siblings. I could've been a good ate, too," she explained, her voice shaking.

Hinaplos ko ulit ang buhok niya at hinalikan ang noo niya. "You're already a good ate, Liara. And marami pa tayong time na magkasama. You can bond with the twins, and I know they'll love you, too," I said, smiling at her.

"But I think they're mad at me, Mom. I blamed them kanina, and I know they were hurt," she confessed.

"As I said, marami pa tayong time. Go and talk to them. Introduce yourself. They'll be happy to meet you."

Tumango siya and stood up. I was sure they'd grow to love each other.
