I can't bear to see Liara crying. Almira's death really left a mark on her heart, and even though I didn't know her for long, I got attached.

Hindi ko maiwasang manghinayang. She was a great mother, a great woman.

But that's life—people come and people go.

We just have to deal with the consequences.

I'm thankful Liara's matured enough to handle it. Sure, she's crying, but that's normal. She's not throwing tantrums or anything, she's just slowly accepting it.

I can't say she's fine, but she's coping, just fine.

"Can you stop this, Logan?" I asked seriously when I saw him outside my unit again. "This isn't the time for your games..."

I'm not mad at him, okay? But we're facing a real problem. There's no time for this kind of stuff right now.

Even though I can see he's making an effort.

I just don't understand.

He looked away and set down the flowers he brought. "Then, can I come back tomorrow?"

I lowered my eyes to the floor, unable to meet his gaze. "Please, not now, Logan..."

I saw the pain flash across his face. I'm sorry.

And it just keeps repeating, over and over.

"I told you to stop," I said more firmly when I saw him walk into the shop.

He gave a small smile, which only made me feel guilty.

"I reserved a seat at the veranda at Charlie's," he mentioned, referring to a popular restaurant.

 "Do you, uh, want to come with me?"

The offer was tempting, but...

"I-I have plans today. I'm going to Lily's fashion show..." I replied.

His smile faded, so I busied myself arranging the flower wrap.

"I can reschedule. What about tomorrow?" he pressed.

I swallowed hard. Tomorrow is...

"I-I'm attending a seminar, Logan," I answered.

I'm not lying! My mom has started passing down responsibilities for our company to me.

"Oh..." he muttered. "Then maybe after your seminar?"

"Sure..." I answered quickly. I didn't want to turn him down again. It'll just seem like I'm making excuses.
