I thought the ride had stopped.

Or had it really stopped?

"What are you doing here, Logan?" I asked in surprise as he suddenly walked into the shop.

He was still wearing his office attire, minus the coat and tie.

He looked around, and I noticed Mira and Kitty quietly giggling to themselves.

"I'm buying flowers," he replied, his tone full of obviousness.

Stupid question, Eli! What else do people do in a flower shop—eat?

"Oh..." I whispered. "Do you have a specific flower in mind?"

"You choose," he said, and I frowned.

"For what occasion?" I asked again, though he seemed uninterested.

"I'm planning to court someone," he said, and I quickly turned away, pretending to browse through the flowers.

How ironic. He's buying flowers for his future wife from his ex-wife.

"Then I recommend the Juliet Rose. It's pricey but elegant, and it has a sweet fragrance any woman would love," I said, trying to sound professional. He just nodded.

"Would you like it?" he suddenly asked, catching me off guard.

"Huh?" I blinked, confused.

"I'll take it," he said, so I arranged it.

"You can write a short message on the card," I offered, handing him one.He took it and scribbled something down.

Can I court you?

I cleared my throat when I read the note and focused on arranging the flowers.I handed them to him, but instead of taking them, he shrugged and put on his coat.I gave him a puzzled look.

"The flowers, Logan," I reminded him.

"You're supposed to answer the question," he said, looking at me intently.

"What question?" I asked, still confused.

He didn't reply, instead walking over to Kitty to pay for the flowers.

"Let me know when you have an answer," he said before walking out of the shop.

I quickly followed him. "The flowers!" I shouted after him, but he was already in his car, speeding off.

Is he losing his mind? Is this what being single does to people?
