I don't know how this situation will end. Will it be happy or another tragedy?

For now, I've managed to fix some of my family problems. Or maybe they've just gotten better. I'm closer to my family now—I can talk to my mom without fear or hesitation. It feels better than before. Si Yumi na lang ang kulang, but I'm sure someday, she'll forgive me too.

"Your husband has been a great help to the company, hija. I don't know what we would've done without him managing things these past months," my mom suddenly said.

I gripped my glass tightly. I tried to shove away the thoughts invading my mind. Hearing those words made me strangely happy. Oh Eli, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

"He's not my husband, Mom. Well, not anymore," I replied, taking a sip of my coffee.

She stared at me for a few seconds before shaking her head. "Legally, you're still married."

Napakagat ako sa labi sa sinabi ni Mommy. She's right. Legally, we're still married. But maybe that won't be hard to fix. Logan already knows about the twins. Siguro naman, he'll be the one to give me the annulment papers now that I'm here?

We can talk about the twins. I'll let him spend time with them, but I want to be their primary guardian. As much as I want to be with Liara, it feels selfish to ask for more. She's legally my daughter too, but I know she belongs with her dad. I couldn't take her away from Logan—it wouldn't be fair.

"Bakit hindi mo subukang ayusin ang marriage niyo, anak? Para na rin sa mga bata?"

I took a deep breath. Fixing it would only make things worse. Mauulit lang ang dati. I don't want my kids growing up in a home where their parents don't even like each other. I don't want my children to live in a household full of arguments and coldness.

Or maybe, I'm just trying to protect my heart.

"It's not possible, Mom. We can still be parents to our kids, even if we're separated." I tried to sound firm, but my voice wavered.

And I don't want to ruin his life either. If he's with someone now, who am I to interfere? Hindi na rin naman niya gugustuhing ayusin ang lahat sa amin. We'll just end up hurting each other.

God, why does this still hurt?

"You're a mother now, anak. Alam kong kaya mo nang mag-decide on your own, pero sana isipin mo rin ang sarili mo. Do what will truly make you happy so you won't have regrets later on."

I just smiled at her, avoiding the weight of her words. I didn't want to say anything more—it would only make me anxious.

"By the way, sigurado ka bang babalik ka pa sa bahay niyo? It would be nice if you stay here, kasama ang mga bata."

My heart softened at her pleading voice. I held her hand and gently squeezed it.
