Kagat-labi akong nakahawak sa kamay. I'm currently waiting for Mrs. Brandon to arrive. Ang daming tumatakbo sa isip ko. What if she take my twins? Anong laban ko kung magkataon?

I'm wearing my office outfit dahil galing ako sa trabaho. Of course! She's already aware of that.

Ano kaya ang reaksyon niya nang malamang nagtatrabaho ako sa kompanya? Well, it's not my problem to think about anymore.

Tumayo ako nang makita ko siyang papalapit sa lamesa. Bahagya kong inayos ang palda ko. I'm not impressing her! I just want to look presentable.

"You sit. Hindi mo na kailangang tumayo," she said in a firm but calm voice.

Tahimik akong umupo habang hawak pa rin ang magkabilang kamay ko. Kinalma ko ang sarili ko at ngumiti sa kanya.

"Good afternoon, Mrs. Brandon," I greeted her. She's still my superior, and I want to talk to her professionally.

"Drop the formality, hija. This is outside of work," she replied coldly.

Tumango ako. "Uhm, mag-oorder lang po ako."

She raised a hand to stop me. "No need. Hindi naman ako magtatagal."

I straightened in my seat, trying to steady myself for whatever she was about to say.

"Pasensya sa pagiging diretso, hija, but I'm so disappointed in you. I accepted that you left, but I can't accept na dala mo pala ang mga apo ko."

My palms started to sweat, and I shifted uncomfortably in my seat. Hearing those words from someone I considered a second mom—really hurt.

"Surrender the twins to us. We can take care of them. Name your price. You can live abroad if you want. Just leave the twins to us."

Tears welled up as I processed her words. Ganon ba ako kasama na ina sa tingin nila? After all the years I sacrificed?

I'm willing to let them know my kids, but I'm not a fool. Walang halagang katumbas ang mga anak ko. Gustong-gusto kong akin lang sila, but I don't want to be selfish. My twins deserve more love, not just mine.

"Ma'am, do you think I can do that to my kids?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. I'm doing everything I can to stay calm, but I don't know how long I can hold it together.

"You should. Kung hindi, sa korte na lang tayo mag-uusap," she said with finality.

I smirked bitterly at her words.

"Do you really think the court will side with you? Unless you use your power and money! Kung tutuusin, wala na kayong karapatan. I never asked for anything—not even a single peso. It's me and Lily who worked hard for the twins. I was alone, carrying them for months! I worked while pregnant! I never once relied on your family for anything."
