Momo's POV

Today Ren went on a trip for Chaeyoung celebrating her birthday. The dorm feels like usual when we have no schedule a head of us. After the concert, however, we all received a souvenir from Ren which he bragged that he bought it from France. Well guess what, we've been there once, sadly we didn't come there for vacation but the trip was still enjoyable and we got to get to meet onces from France.

Right now i am staring at the souvenir that I recently talked about. Yes, Ren bought me a cookbook. I don't know why and what's the motivation he bought this for me but when he gave it. His voice sounded mockingly amusing. 'Since you love to eat a lot of food. I've decided to give you a France local cookbook'

He even tried to showed it off with a gesture that's insultingly teasing. Ahh... whatever at least he brought me something. Flipping pages after pages looking for the content inside, I decided to try out some of the recipes while heading to the kitchen and prepare the utensils needed for the cook. I put the book on a table opposite the cooking counter and rustled inside all the cabinets finding all the tools needed. I did a quick reading through the recipes while noting all the ingredients and turned around checking it inside the fridge whether it is available or not.

I checked them all, put it all outside and laid it all on the counter. I looked back to the recipe and start following the steps by carefully cutting potatoes into very thinly sliced potatoes which I struggle so much in the process. Crap, I didn't bother to look in the description that this is a hard dish to make. I cursed after reading the description that this was to be a hard dish to make. I should have read the descriptions first before deciding next time. I sighed waving my head while still struggling cutting these potatoes.

Finally done with the potatoes, I moved to grab an omelette pan and started to heat the pan. I scooped half tablespoon of butter and drizzle a healthy amount of olive oil. Heating the butter while waiting the butter to melt according to the recipe, i read through the recipe once more then start to arrange tightly the thinly sliced potatoes around the pan as the butter fully melted. As the potatoes cook itself ,browning, I went ahead and arrange tightly the next stack of thinly sliced potatoes.

Noticing that the pan didn't have enough butter, I scooped another half tablespoon of butter. Stacking the potatoes until it looks just like the picture in the recipe, now waiting for it to cook itself slowly until browning.

The dish looks like it is cooked, I turned off the heat and went grabbing a plate to start sliding it carefully onto it. It says upon finishing i need to serve it with a finely sliced parsley and sprinkle some kosher salt. Eh??? Kosher salt?? We don't have that though. I thought, I think normal salt should be just fine. As i sprinkles salt on top of it.

I grabbed a spoon and tried to lower my expectations of what the taste would turned out to be. I took a spoonful and turns out, It wasn't that bad. The crispy texture of its outer skin as it stacks creating layers of interchanging crisps and soft from the potatoes. Humming in approval of what the results of my own cooking, My roommate approached me and asked. "What's that?"

"Oh-uh... it's just potatoes." She leaned taking a look and scrutinized. Without asking, she stole my spoon and then took a taste. "Whoo... did you make this?"

"I just followed the recipe on this cookbook Ren gave." She waved her head. "Who cares... the important part is that, you made this." Pointing with the spoon. "Let's call the rest to let them taste it for you." She then shouted across the room and not long after everyone huddled around.
