Surprising Him

Mina's POV

Looking at his broad back sitting at the edge of Shion's bed, his hand caressing Shion while brushing her hairs to the side. Shion's been sick for 4 days and in those 4 days Ren has been taking care of Shion. Manager Lee also came to visit Shion and immediately called off Ren's photoshoot for the week. Good news, the company didn't mind, Ren postponing the shoot and it is rescheduled for next week. I'm standing by the steel door opening a view of him taking care of Shion and eventually i decided to walked over to him.

"Ja-gi, you need to eat your lunch." I saw him turning over to look towards me. I arrived to where he's sitting and immediately his hands were put on my hips cupping it. "It's 3 PM, Ren. You haven't eat anything since this morning." He brought my hips setting me to sit on his lap. "I think Shion's getting better now. Her temperature is not rising anymore." Ren said as i can feel him wrapping around his arms and locking me inside his arms with his knuckle behind. "I've prepared your favourite katsudon, Ren." He moved his face to peck a small kiss on my lips. "Ne, Minari. Arigatouna." His soft smile curving.

We heard Shion waking up with her soft moans and groans, and her turning over to find us. "Too-san, kaa-san." Shion addressed us with her sheepish look after waking up. "What time is it?" Shion started to sit up on her own. "It's 3 PM, Shion. Are you thirsty?" Ren asked as he grabbed the glass filled water on Shion's desk. Shion nodded to her father's offer and Ren immediately gave the glass to her. "Arigatou, too-san."

"Feeling better, Shion?" I asked and Shion nodded immediately to answer then went back to set herself laying down on her bed again. We stared at our daughter for a moment, going to sleep as i recalled the memory of when the first time Shion had a fever when she was five. Like on that day, Ren was the one who's taking care of Shion even though I've always tried to convince him that I'm okay taking care of her alone but he insisted and rescheduled all of his drama shoot on that week. "Come on, ja-gi. Let's have your lunch." I invited him as i moved my hand to cup his face and him turning to look at me. "Ne, Minari. Taberou." His voice said softly as he curved a subtle smirk. He planted a small kiss before we stand up. I brought him over to the kitchen counter for him to have his lunch.

I grabbed the bowl of katsudon on the cooking counter. I turned around to find Ren's sitting against kitchen counter. "Here is your lunch, Ren. Hope you like it." I set the bowl in front of him with my other hand caressing his back. "When is Shion going to attend her school again?" As i set myself sitting on a tall chair beside him. "Hmm? Around July, doushitano?" He hummed approvingly while he put a spoon into his mouth. "Shion's summer holidays are ending." He continued after chewing his food. "Well, Shion already got to spend her holiday with you, Ren. Daijoubu." I know what he's thinking about. "It's not your fault that Shion's sick now. Just think that she's having too much fun with you so she ended up getting sick." I tried to joke around so he didn't feel so bad about it. "Yeah- i guess you could say that." After laughing softly to my joke. "Does it taste good?" He hummed, "this?" I nodded and he leaned forward to kiss me with his mouth still chewing. "It tasted good for me. I don't know about you." He teased after pulling away making me taste the food with his kiss which then left me blushing hard to his acts.

"Shion, Kyo-kun is here for you!!" I called her out across the living room while receiving Kyoya in front of the door. "Kyoya-san, arigatou for walking Shion to school." Kyoya nodded politely. "Ne, Mina-san. This is just my way to thank Shion for tutoring me in school." Kyoya explained as i nodded approving to his answer. "Kyo-kun!!" Shion rushing from her room ready with her uniform and her backpack. "Kaa-san, ittekimasu!!" Shion waved as she was walking alongside Kyoya away to school. I walked back inside to find Ren still sitting on a tall chair while drinking his coffee in the kitchen. "So Kyoya has been taking Shion to school?" He asked while putting the cup of coffee to his mouth. "Ne, ja-gi. They look really cute together." I heard him chuckling while I'm setting myself to sit beside him. "Aren't you going to Suwon?" I asked, "ne, I'm waiting for manager Lee to come and get me." He moved closer to peck me on my lips, leaving a taste of his bitter coffee in my mouth. "Do you wanna come?" How did he know about what I'm going to say? "Ne, Ren. Can i?" He nodded as he finishes his coffee. "Why not?" As he moved his hands cupping my hands on the counter. "I'm sure the director wouldn't mind having a beautiful penguin as an additional model." He joked teasingly as i smiled shyly to his joke.
