I took my wayfarers and wore it to protect my eyes from the harsh rays of the sun. I also took off my coat because of the blazing heat that enveloped me as I walked out of the airport.
I glanced at my buzzing surroundings. The surge of nostalgia mixed with the familiar emptiness surged through me as I stared at the exact same place where I stood years ago. I sighed deeply and took in the warm air.
Everything feels familiar but foreign at the same time.
Napatingin ako sa katabi ko.
"We're really back," sabi niya habang nakatingin sa malayo na tila nag-iisip. I just smiled at him.
He was no longer sporting his dyed hair. He's a businessman now. Being in such position required him to leave his iconic platinum-blue hair. He was now sporting his natural dark brown hair which made him look more serious, more formal, and of course, more gorgeous than ever.
"Mommy! It's so hot! Can we go inside the car now?" narinig kong pagrereklamo ng maliit naming kasama. His sharp gray eyes wandered through the surrounding as he fanned himself with his small hands.
I smiled at him and crouched down to carry him. Nagpatianod naman siya at yumakap sa aking leeg.
"Okay, baby."
