Addicted

"I thought you two weren't a thing?" Sky asked.

I almost rolled my eyes at her.

Hindi nalang ako sumagot.

Winter, being the nice guy that he always is, answered for us.

"We aren't. Can't two people have a nice lunch together without being a 'thing'?" he asked in the most polite way.

Mukhang hindi naman naniniwala si Sky pero pinalampas niya nalang iyon. Ang lalaking nakaupo naman sa harap niya ay mukhang buryong buryo na. Tumingin siya kay Sky.

"Shall we order?" he asked.

Nginitian naman siya ni Sky.

"Sure! I'm hungry."

She didn't need to call for a waitress because one already went to our table. She gave each of us the menu.

My eyes immediately drifted on the steak. Natakam naman ako sa picture nito. I didn't even have to scan the menu further. I knew what I wanted.

Hinintay ko lang ang tatlo na matapos sa pagdedesisyon ng oorderin niya. Once I'm positive that they're done, I raised my hand to get the attention of waitress. Agad din naman niya kaming dinaluhan at kinuha ang mga order namin.

"Will that be all po?" tanong nito. We nodded and she went off to take care of the food that we ordered. 

Silence covered the table like a blanket. No one dared to speak.

Okay, what was I thinking? Saying yes to this kind of arrangement?

"So... I assume you guys know each other?" Sky asked. Nagkatinginan naman kaming tatlo.

"Yeah," simpleng tugon ni Phoenix.

"Phoenix actually lived with me before," sabi ni Winter. Napa-oh naman si Sky samantalang kumunot naman ang noo ko.

Before?

Umalis na ba si Phoenix sa puder nila Winter?

"I didn't know that. That's so cool. Are you related or something?" she asked, interested. She fixed her bangs while looking at Winter curiously.

"No, we're just friends and he needed a place to stay so I offered mine," sabi ni Winter.

"That's nice!" she said animatedly.

"Uhm... if you don't mind, can I ask what your relationship is with Saf? I mean, you guys are always together but you aren't a thing..." she trailed off.

Ang kulit? 

Bakit ba curious na curious siya? If she wasn't nice, I would've lashed out on her already. Ayoko pa naman sa lahat ang makulit.

"We're really just friends," Pasensyosong tugon ni Winter.

I rolled my eyes.

"Oh! Haha! I really just can't see you two only as friends. Ang cute niyo kasi talaga together! And the pictures from the party you guys went to, oh my gosh!" sabi nito na tila nagfafangirl.
