NOTE: This is the last chapter of Frozen Fire. Thank you so much to those people who stuck with me throughout the writing of this novel. This is the very first novel I'll ever finish kaya proud ako dito. Although it did take me about two years to get this far HAHA! Anyway, I hope you have enjoyed reading this book and following the story of Safira and Phoenix!

Like always, this chapter is unedited and will only be edited once I finish the entire book (or when I find the time to do so).  ALSO, this novel is nearing 5k reads. Hopefully we get that before the year ends :)

Happy reading!

Chapter 45

The End Game

I have been staring at my closet for the longest time, pondering upon which I should choose between two classic pieces.

The sleek black corporate blazer or the matte black leather jacket.

I wish I could bring both but my luggage is already screaming in agony with the amount of items in it. I'd have to choose one.

In the end, I opted for the corporate blazer. That one's more practical, and useful in the long run. The leather jacket would only be a liability.

Funny how this little dilemma of mine mirrors my dilemma in real life.

Sarkastiko nalang akong napatawa.

I walked out of my closet and unto my luggage. I crouched and carefully placed the blazer inside, then closed it shut.

Agad naman akong napahiga sa aking kama. I threw myself on the soft mattress with a soft thud.

It's about 3AM in the wee hours of the night at hindi pa rin ako dinadalaw ng antok. Kaya naman, I decided to make the most out of my time and fix my things.

It has been my plan to go to Canada for my studies before, kaya naman, I already have my documents ready. Besides, my father has connections in Canada because he lived there when he was younger and my grandparents are currently residing there. Kahit man hindi niya gustong ginagamit ito, he had no choice but to have his connections pull some strings for the immediate grant of our visa.

Noong una, hindi pa sila sang-ayon sa plano kong pananatili sa ibang bansa but after that one incident, they seemed to be adamant on getting us out of here. They even talked about us applying for a permanent resident visa after our student visa expires.

I'll cross that bridge when I get there. For now, I want to leave this damned country and study in peace.

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako at pumikit upang makatulog na. But my brain is still as alive as it is dead. I am so dead inside but my brain's cogs just keep turning, refusing to give me peace. Napabalikwas ako at napaupo.

I bit my lip and shook my head in disbelief.

I stood up and walked towards my vanity. I gently held the dainty piece of jewelry on my hand. It felt cold against my fingers.

Tinitigan ko lang ito.
