Chapter 23

Salvatore

It's Saturday.

The last few days were boring. As always.

Doll and Elle both went to my house for a surprise visit. Dahil sa kanila ay maingay na naman ang bahay. Tuwang tuwa naman ang nanay ko dahil may machichika na siyang makukulit na babae.

Saffron is busy most of the time. That girl is an achiever. When she's not studying, she's organizing stuff for her school because she's the student council president. She's really active and friendly too. The total opposite of me. She got my mom's features and personality while I got mine mostly from dad.

"I forgot to ask! What happened between you and Phoenix the other day?" Doll asked. I raised my eyebrows.

Nakahiga silang pareho ni Elle sa kama ko na parang Donya while the actual owner of the bed was sitting on the study chair. Walang hiya talaga ang mga babaeng ito.

I sometimes question why I'm friends with them.

"What?" I asked.

"Alam mo, Saf. I feel like you have not been talking much about the things that are happening to you," sabi ni Elle.

"Well, duh? Kailan ba ako nagdaldal?" I asked sarcastically.

"Touché," sabi ni Doll.

"You also went to Winter's house and you never told us!" sabi ni Elle. Pinaningkitan niya ako ng mata. I did the same.

"Who told you that I was at Winter's?" I asked. Nanlaki naman ang mata niya.

"Uhh... I have sources!" I just rolled my eyes at her and didn't push it further. If she wants to talk, she would.

"You were at Winter's house?!" Doll unbelievingly asked.

"It was for a project, okay?" I said. Pareho nila akong tiningnan na parang hindi sila naniniwala.

"Fine."

I started telling them what happened but I did not elaborate on what Phoenix and I talked about when we trapped inside his room.

Pagkatapos kong magkwento ay napanganga lang sila.

"OMG!" sabay nilang sigaw at nagkatinginan pa.

"What happened the other day nung niyaya ka niya somewhere and we left you?" Doll asked.

"He asked me to accompany him to buy a gift for the girl he likes. Birthday niya today and I'm invited," sabi ko sa kanila.

Nagkatinginan na naman ang dalawa. They both stood up from the bed, almost in synchronization.

"What?" I asked them, slightly bewildered by their actions.

"OMG! Elle! Tara! We have to make her look better than the celebrant!" And they rushed into my closet without even asking me for permission.

I just rolled my eyes at them and sat there looking at them rummage through my closet.

"Doll, that's a bit too revealing she's not gonna wear that."

"We want her to look better than the girl! She's gonna look like a hot beach babe in this."

"That's not hot beach babe, that's hot beach whore!"

"Ugh, why are you so conservative?!"

"I'm not, you're just too provocative."
