Chapter 16

Chapter 16

The Same

The next few days passed by like a blur to me.

I focused more on my studies dahil malapit na rin ang Midterms. 

I can't believe how fast time flies. Parang kailan lang ay first day of school palang.

Everything was peaceful, except for the mischievous smirks Phoenix throws my way from time to time when we see each other in class or just by the hallway and the little pranks that he does to irritate me.

Sometimes in class, he'd sit next to me to just bother me. He would get my pen when I'm writing. He would also tug on my ponytail when he passes behind me in class. He would spread his long legs when I'm passing by in front of him.

He acted like a child seeking for attention.

A few days later, he went radio silent. He stopped his stupid little pranks. I can't help but think that he may have something else planned.

Lastly and fortunately, what happened last Sunday was never brought up again.

Laging nagtatanong sila Elle at Doll tungkol doon. I don't entertain them though. Buti nalang at busy rin ang dalawa sa studies and co-curricular activities nila and organizations kaya hindi rin nila ako nakukulit.

Elle was an officer in the art organization which I am also in (not active though), while Doll was in the book club.

I almost rolled my eyes when Doll told us that she was in the Book club. Doll wasn't really into books as much as Elle and I. Siguro ay nagbabasa siya ngunit one book in a year lang siguro. Dalawa kapag ginanahan.

Our guess was that she had seen someone cute from the club and signed up as a member. It turned out true. Ngayon, she started getting really into it because of the guy.

She even bragged about being the club's auditor.

I just snorted at her. As if naman may ambag talaga siya.

The cute guy she was crushing on was apparently the Vice President kaya ninominate ni bruha ang sarili niya as Auditor.

Nagpauto naman sa kanya ang mga members at binoto rin siya.

I, on the other hand, am not really participative when it comes to those things. Besides, they don't affect my grades. Sumali lang ako sa art club for Elle.

That is why we barely saw each other.

That didn't bother me though. I actually liked the solace and peace I had when eating alone during lunch. Their breaks were allotted for their org meetings kaya naman ay madalas akong walang kasama during lunch.

The last time we talked as a trio was last Monday.

It's now Thursday.

The dreaded day.

Bakante ngayon ang schedule ng dalawa at heto sila ngayon nakatingin sa akin ng matalim.

Matagal na nila akong gustong kulitin ngunit lagi silang walang time and now they found the chance to corner me.

"Okay, Safira. Enough dodging. Anong nangyari sa Noctis?" tanong ni Elle with her eyebrow raised.

Nasa cafeteria kami ngayon at nakaupo sila sa aking harapan. Sabay ang mga lunch namin ngayon kung kaya't sinundo nila ako sa klase ko para daw hindi na ako makawala.
