(Y/N’s POV)

“You cursed at Bang Chan?! The Bang Chan?!”

I quickly covered Soyeon’s mouth and looked around the café if anyone heard.

“Would you be quiet?” I hissed at her.

She took my hand off of her face and glared at me with wild eyes.

Soyeon is my coworker and my best friend. Her mother owns the café we’re working at. She’s also a big fan of Bang Chan. We would fangirl over their group, 3racha, until the sun rose. But now, I don’t think I’ll be able to fangirl with her anymore. Not after what happened at the bus.

“He probably didn’t hear me, okay? He was already far from where I was standing when I cursed.” I explained timidly, cowering under her glare.

She is pretty scary when she’s pissed.

She clicked her tongue in annoyance. “Have you forgotten? That was Bang Chan. His ears are sensitive to sound. That’s how he finds unique voices to sing his songs. How can you be so sure that he didn’t hear you when you don’t even know how to whisper properly?”

Ah, right. He is gifted, I’d give him that. He is popular for his talent. You’d often find him in public spaces, spacing out, listening to voices and writing songs.

“By the way, you think he might have been interested in you?” Soyeon asked, making me laugh. “What? What’s so funny?”

“Him? Interested in me? That was a good joke.”

“He gave you his umbrella, didn’t he? He must have took an interest in you.”

“Look, he was just being nice after being an asshole, okay?”

I hissed in pain when she flicked my forehead.

“That hurt!” I whined, rubbing my forehead lightly.

“You should get off work early tonight.” She told me as she prepared the pastry. “Tomorrow is your big day.” She continued, giving me a big smile.

(Chan’s POV)

“Well, that was shitty.” I deadpanned as I watched the so-called singer got out of her booth. “Who the fuck recruited her?”

Changbin sighed. “It was Ms. Jang. Apparently that’s her niece. She told me she’s a ‘great’ voice.”
Ms. Jang is the CEO of Soul Music Ent. She also happens to be a hypocritical ass who only knows how to control everybody around her.

“Greatly shitty, that’s what it is.” I grumbled as Jisung held his laugh in.

Our conversation was interrupted when the girl, whose name is already long forgotten, knocked on the door and came in.

I slipped a small yet obviously fake smile on my face. “Good job today. You can go home now.”

“Of course I did a good job. By the way, wanna grab something to eat later?” She looked at me suggestively.

Well, fuck.

“I think I’ll pass.” I grinned at her, trying to keep myself from cringing.

“You said I did a good job, right? Aren’t you going to reward me for it?” She freaking winked at me.

I could hear Changbin and Jisung struggle to keep themselves from laughing out loud.

I sighed and wiped the smile off of my face. “Actually, you did a horrible job.” I replied, making her smirk fall.

“W-what?” She stammered, eyebrows scrunched together.

“I said, you did a horrible job.” I repeated, crossing my arms on my chest. “You have a good voice, but that’s it. You can’t even do your runs well. You have the voice control of a 3 year-old kid who just discovered the existence of a microphone.”

“You think your songs are so gre-“

“They are.” I cut her off with a blank face. “And they’re not made for so-called singers like you, so if you think you’re good enough to sing my music, think again. You don’t even fit in my standards. I’m surprised how you managed to have an appointment with us. With me. But I guess, connections are everything, right?”

She’s lost for words. Good. She was being a hell of a headache anyway.

“So, you still want to have a bite with me?”

(Jisung’s POV)

Damn, that was intense.

Well, that’s Chan for you. He is a monster in the music industry. If he wants someone to sing his songs, it should be him to find the right person. Otherwise, it’s all going to be a big mess.

After the girl left, Changbin and I laughed our heads off.

It’s not unusual to have girls flocking around Chan. We have a good share of fans as well, but the way he turns them down never fail to amuse us.

“Delete that track.” He stated, running his hand through his hair. “She was absolutely trashy in that booth.”

“Ah,” Changbin let out a sigh. “You’re too harsh.”

Chan glared at Changbin, making him cower under his gaze.

“Tomorrow’s the screening for new recruits, right?” Chan asked as he sat back down on his chair.

“Yup. I heard there were a lot of promising recruits.” I replied, checking the calendar on my phone.

“Promising… We’ll see about that.” He muttered, deep in thought.

Tomorrow is going to be a long and tiring day. I just hope we could quickly get it over with.
