Vanilla

"Aria, Mas mabuti siguro kung umuwi na tayo?" Nag-aalalang tanong ni Corinne habang si Aria ay tahimik lang sa tabi nito.

We're trying to be low key as much as possible. But who wouldn't know Aria? She's a typical chic-magnet.

I'm sitting just across them facing the pool, taking as many drinks as I can. Pero dinig na dinig ko pa din yung pinag uusapan nila.

I'm just wearing the simplest dress I could ever wear. I'm tryin' to blend in.

"I called Grant, Van. Just in case we need back ups." Sabi pa nito.

Hindi naman ako umimik. I don't care about Grant. I still hate her. She's hurting me.

But I know that Grant can play a great role as our exit pass.

I glance at my watch. It's already quarter to 7pm. The party is on it's full swing. Pero until now, we haven't spotted Carmi or Jacob yet.

I told you. They're just lying.

Tumayo ako. I could feel the drinks I've had starting to kick in.

"I'll just go to the washroom." Paalam ko kay Aria.

Tumayo din si Corinne. "I'll go with you."

"No, I can do it alone. Thanks, but no thanks."

Maging si Aria ay tumayo na din.

"Corinne will accompany you, Van. Try ko mag-ikot. I'll try to check the rumors. If I could squeeze some info, I'll let you know."

I just raised my hand to tell her to do what she wants.

"Let's go?" Inalalayan naman ako ni Corinne.

Hindi ko naman itinanggi yung kamay niya. I need it. Mukhang matutumba na yata ako.

"Lasing ka na, Van?" Tanong pa nito.

Now that I'm just with her, no one is glancing our way. This is what sucks being with high ups. People won't even care at you if you're not wearing fancy clothes, expensive perfume, flashy jewelries and all luxury. Without those, you're just nothing but a stranger passing by.

I'm not surprised though. Hindi naman kasi ako ganoon kakilala. Mostly, sa middle class families and low class ones mas kilala yung pangalan namin. Elite Class can only recognize you in Gala events and any Socio-government involvement.

Hindi kasi ako kagaya ni Grant at Railey na laging laman ng lahat ng parties kaya hindi ako ganoon kasikat sa madla.

Pagkapasok pa lang ng cubicle ng washroom ay sumandal ako agad sa pinto. I feel dizzy.

It took me fifteen minutes to collect myself and to pee.

Palabas na sana ako ng cubicle nang marinig ko yung ingay ng tawanan sa labas.

"Aria is here. Have you seen her? She's really oozing with sexiness."

"Di ba she's already married?"

"That's what makes it hotter di ba? Kasi she knows her thing. Goodness. Ang swerte ng wife nya. Imagine, Calvry and Callaghan yung nag-agawan sa kanya. Gosh! It's heaven to taste both."

Nagtawanan pa ang mga ito na para bang mga kinikilig.

Of course, that's Sammie and Aria.

"Di ba Cindy, you've had Aria?"

Cindy? It doesn't even ring a bell. Sa dami ng babae ni Aria. Hindi ko na matandaan ang mga pangalan niyon.

"Yes, She's really great in bed. I've been with their practice game too. Dun ko nga nakilala si Ariston e. He was Railey Alleman's boyfriend that time."
