Vanilla

"Get out of my seat!"

It was me when I'm entering the school bus for our field trip.

"What seat?" I was greeted with golden amber eyes. Napalunok naman ako nung nag-angat ito ng tingin.

Fudge! Get another seat, Van. Isa lang ang taong di kayang banggain ng pangalan mo, that mixture of royal blood.

"Wala. I'm sorry." Sabi ko saka mabilis na hinanap ng mga mata ko sina Hariette at Railey. Were are those two? Sabi nila kakausapin lang daw nila yung Samantha na nakatalo kay Railey sa chess e.

"You can sit here if you want." The Montello blood tap the vacant seat beside her.

"I want the seat beside the window. I have motion sickness." nahihiyang sabi ko.

That kid just gracefully lifted her things on that side at lumipat sa katabing upuan niyon, binakante nga nito yung upuan sa tabi ng bintana.

Umupo naman ako sa tabi nito dahil mukhang matatagalan pa sina Railey at Hariette.

"Thank you."

"De rien."

Napaangat ang tingin ko dito. She really looks like a barbie doll. Tapos ang tangkad din nito.

"I'm Van. You're the Montello blood di ba?"

She's sipping strawberry yogurt.

"You're Vanilla, right?"

"Just Van. Vanilla sounded too feminine."

Nagkibit balikat ito.

"You're a girl, so I think it's okay to sound feminine."

Ngumiti ako.

"But I still prefer Van. What about yours?"

"I'm the Montello blood."

That made me laugh. She really sounded like a barbie doll matching her pretty face.

"Are you a model or an actress? You sounded so fake."

"It's rude to say nasty things to people you do not know."

"Just say your name. Stop being pa-cool."

"I'm not doing such. You're just saying so because maybe you somehow find me like that."

Natigilan ako. Is that true?

"Hey, Van!" Paakyat na din ng bus sina Railey at Hariette. Pareho silang nakatingin sa akin.

"Dyan ka na uupo?" Tanong ni Hariette na tiningnan yung katabi ko. She's not expecting that I'll take the courage to talk to the royal blood.

This Montello blood is already our classmate since we're in preschool pero hindi namin kinakausap. She seems to be too aloof kasi sa tao.

"Nope, I'm just waiting for you guys! Ang tagal nyo e." Tumayo ako at tinangay yung bag ko.

Samantalang yung katabi ko naman ay parang walang anuman dito kung umalis man ako o hindi.

"Bilisan mo umalis, Van. You're taking my seat." Sabi ng famous Latina Kid. Of course, she's a well-known genius na pati mga professors kino-correct nito sa klase. Kasunod nito yung Samantha na isa pa sa mga genius kid.

Pagkatayo ko ay mabilis na umupo sa binakante kong upuan si Grant. Sa tabi naman nito ay umupo din si Samantha.

The three seems too close.
