Chapter 14

I was quietly sitting on a chair while watching Dream do what needs to be done. On her left side, near the pillows, was where her laptop is placed. On her right side was her phone and scientific calculator. The rest of her papers was scattered on her bed. She would write something on the yellow paper then turn to her laptop to encode something. Then she'd write again and grab her sci-cal to fiddle with it.

She stretched her limbs and massaged her temple. It was already an hour and a half since I sat here and watched her. Bumaling siya sakin at ngumiti. She stood up and totally faced me.

"Sorry medyo busy ako ngayon. Masyado talagang demanding si accounting," she smiled apologetically.

"It's okay," I nodded.

"Lilinisin ko nalang 'tong kalat tapos matutulog na 'ko. Bukas ng maaga ko nalang to ico-continue, patay na ang kahuli-huling brain cell ko," she laughed.

I nodded again and stood up. "I'll help you."

I went to her bed and got her papers, I placed it on the bed side table. Pinatay niya na rin ang laptop niya at tinabi iyon. I went out of her room at sumunod naman siya sakin. She offered to take me to my car and I just agreed. Sabay kaming naglalakad palabas ng dorm niya at tumigil lang nang nasa harap na kami ng Range Rover.

"Eat those munchkins tomorrow while you're doing your worksheets," I reminded her.

Tumango naman siya at ngumiti. "Noted. Ingat ka pauwi, good night."

I smiled back. "Good night."

I went inside and drove back to my condo. Umakyat na ako at pinihit ang door knob but it was already locked. I was about to insert my key but it suddenly opened. Nakakunot ang noo ni Apollo habang nakatingin sakin. His hand was holding the door knob while his other hand was holding a razor. May cream pang nakalagay sa baba niya.

Nilakihan niya ang pagkakabukas ng pinto para makapasok ako. Nakakunot pa rin ang noo niya habang nakatingin sakin. Arus was chilling on the sofa while hugging a throw pillow. Bumaling siya sakin at tinaasan ako ng kilay.

"Nakauwi na pala ang magaling kong kaibigan," giit niya.

"I thought you're at your room," Apollo said and closed the door. I just shrugged and went to the kitchen.

Apollo went back to the bathroom while I opened the ref and grabbed a pitcher of water. Kumuha rin ako ng baso at nagsalin doon. I was peacefully drinking water when I heard Arus' footsteps.

He also opened the ref and looked for something. Nilagay ko sa sink ang baso at ibinalik ang pitchel. He flashed a silly smile and grabbed a bag of chips.

"Akala ko sa labas ka na matutulog," aniya at inisara ang ref.

"Gusto mo ikaw ang patulugin ko sa labas?" I glared at him.

"Grabe di ka naman madaan sa biro. Good night nalang," he said and gave me a flying kiss before he went to the sala.

I went to my room and changed my clothes. I also went to the bathroom to brush my teeth before finally going to bed.

Maaga akong nagising kinabukasan, I ran some errands regarding with my license. Hapon na nang makauwi ako sa condo.

I was laying on the sofa while wiping my sweat with a handkerchief. It's getting hotter and hotter every day that pass. I sometimes get confused if i'm really strolling around Manila or burning in hell. I see no difference.

"Puta pati aircon mainit na hangin na ang binubuga," Arus cursed more while getting out of his room.

Binuksan niya ang electric fan at tinapat sa banda ko tsaka siya tumabi sakin at naghubad ng pang-itaas. I closed my eyes and rested my head on the sofa.
