We continued giving out help to the people. Like what we always do, we moved from one place to another. It was already our second day since we landed and I am beyond proud that in that short span of time, we already helped a number of residents with their basic needs.
Kahit lumipat na kami ng lugar na pagbibigyan ng mga packed goods ay bumabalik pa rin ako sa unang lugar na pinuntahan namin. Nagbabakasakaling makita ko siya ulit o makasalubong. After giving out reliefs to the village, pupunta ako sa lugar kung saan ko siya nakita. Our operation would last the whole day giving out reliefs from house to house and I'd make every move faster so I would immediately finish the area that was assigned to me and ditch for awhile and go to that house and see if Dream would come out. Paulit-ulit ko na yang ginagawa pero hindi pa rin ako nakakatyempo.. Mag-iisang oras na akong nakatayo malapit roon kaya bigo nalang akong bumalik bago pa ako maiwan ng vehicle na maghahatid sa'min.
"Why do your eyes look so weary?" Venus asked when I entered the service. Umupo ako sa tabi niya at humalukipkip.
"Why are you so observant?" I asked back and looked away.
She scoffed and crossed her arms. "Brave Rigel's being a bitch," pagpaparinig niya at tumawang nang-aasar. She shook her head and smiled to herself.
Umandar na ang sinasakyan namin at agad na humarurot paalis. When we reached the Space Administration, the Commanders have just finished their meeting. Inaya na nila kaming kumain at sumunod naman kami sa kanila.
We sat on a long table and the varieties of food was already served. I sat between Venus and Commander Wilfron. Nakikipag-usap sila sa iba naming kasama habang tahimik lang akong kumakain. Some of them would ask me some questions and tried to start a conversation. I would also respond to them and answer their questions with the best that I can.
"The lieutenant is staring at you. Damn, she's getting creepier," Venus whispered. Napabaling ako sa kanya matapos kong sinagot ang tanong ng isang Commander.
"You're the creepiest," I whispered back. Sinamaan niya ako ng tingin at palihim na kinurot ang braso ko. Napangiwi ako at mahinang tinampal ang kamay niya.
Nang natapos na kami sa pag-kain ay nagsitayuan na kami upang pumunta sa kanya-kanyang cabin. Naglalakad ako sa maluwag na hallway nang nakasalubong ko si Commander Vasman kasama ang iba pang mga Commander. He raised his hand and smiled when he saw me.
"Flight Engineer Brave Rigel Velarde!" bati niya nang nakalapit ako. Tumigil rin sila sa paglalakad habang nakaharap sakin.
"Good evening, Commander Vasman," Tipid ko silang nginitian ng mga kasama niya.
"Oh, let me introduce you to my colleagues in this field. This is Flight Commander Eves, this one's Spacecraft Commander Moore," he said and pointed the Commanders beside him. "Commanders, this is Flight Engineer Brave Rigel Velarde. The skilled astronaut of our beloved Space Administration."
They nodded and extended their hands. I politely accepted it and smiled at them. Nagpatuloy na sila sa paglalakad kaya linampasan ko na rin sila at pumunta sa cabin. Nang awtomatikong bumukas ang pintuan ay pumasok na ako. I removed my badge and my uniform then got a towel before entering the bathroom.
Noong nakatapos akong maligo ay agad akong nagbihis ng pantulog. The hologram made a sound kaya napatingin ako doon. I sat on my bed and looked at Commander Vasman's call. Sinagot ko iyon at agad lumitaw ang imahe niya.
"Brave, we had to stay here longer. I have more meetings to attend, just like Commander Vasman and Dr. Scketchley," he informed me.
"I understand, Commander," I said with a small smile and nodded.
