Chapter 27

Nang nakabalik ako ay sinalubong ako ng mga titig ni Venus. Nakahalukipkip siya habang nakataas ang kilay. Tahimik akong umupo sa tabi niya at hindi siya pinansin. Pinilig niya ang kanyang ulo at siningkitan ako.

"You left, again," she said while looking at me intensely.

"And?" I raised a brow and turned to her.

"What are you hiding, hmm?" She frowned.

"Mind your own business, Pilot," I slowly whispered and smirked.

Her brows shot up and sarcastically smiled. "Alright, Flight Engineer."

I chuckled and looked in front. Buong byahe ay tahimik lang kami habang patingin-tingin sa mga nadadaanan. Our service stopped kaya muli akong napatingin sa labas. We're already in the headquarters. Nang nakalabas kami ay sinalubong kami ng malalawak na ngiti ng mga Commander.

"Flight Engineer," Commander Wilfron called and extended his hand.

"What is it, Commander?" I asked after accepting it.

"You'll have your flight test today," he said and smiled.

Sandaling kumunot ang noo ko pero agad rin naman akong tumango. "I thought it'll start after passing the relief goods?" I calmly asked.

"Well, yours will be today. The Commanders couldn't wait to see you fly," he chuckled.

"Why? Any problem with your sudden flight test?" Commander Vasman raised a brow and smirked.

"None, Commander," I gently shook my head.

"Very well, let's go then," aniya at tumalikod. Venus tapped my back and nodded at me before I followed them.

Pinasadahan ko ng tingin ang paligid. It was an open space that are only meant for the Administration's aircrafts. There were also crew around the area, fixing some parts of the planes. Nahagip rin sa paningin ko ang nagte-test ng UVT prototype, they were checking it carefully while one of them was holding the controller.

I climbed into the steps of the jet plane and sat on the only seat. The crew gave me the camera to put it on the side and record my flight. The glass roof above my head moved to cover the plane as the hissing sound started to fill the area.

"Roll in three, two, one, mark. This is Flight Engineer Brave Rigel Velarde speaking. Testing for F18 through flight in flight. We'll soar high until we reach the vault of heaven," I said on the microphone.

Pinindot ko ang mga controls hanggang sa unti-unti nang umangat ang jet plane. The hissing sound started to get more noisy while the plane was in an aviation. I went from point A to point B so I maneuvered the F18 to go up and down, up and down repeatedly. 40,000 flip is probably the highest point.

"Santa to the speed break, see how much effect on pits.."

I was paying attention to every controls and I had to be focused on finding any possible problems to develop and gather data during the flight of this certain aircraft.

"Still a bit of side to side motion..."

I did what I was told and tasked to do.  I smiled when I saw the sunset in the horizon. I never realized that seeing the sunset will be more majestic when you're watching it from above.

The Jet Engine is already revving with a hissing sound while I was slowing down the aircraft until it touched the land. The roof glass opened, I removed my helmet and the harness while walking out of the F18. Mga nakangiting mga mukha ng Commander ang sumalubong sa'kin pagbaba ko. Ginawaran ako ni Commander Vasman ng masigabong palakpakan habang may naglalarong ngiti sa labi.
