Chapter 9: Think About It, Allie

Ike woke me up and told me that Tatay needs our help in the driveway. I got up immediately and fixed myself. I looked out and saw that there's a lot of bricks.

"Kid! I need you!" Tatay shouted as he saw me

"Coming!" I shouted back

Tatay gave me a shovel and told me that we're going to widen up our driveway. He assigned me and Ike to dig and Jin helped him with the bricks. We spent a lot of time there. We started at 7 in the morning and had our break when lunch came. I'm really tired after hours but we're not yet finish.

"We'll be back by 2:30" Tatay told us

I cleaned myself and ate fast then I went straight to Jin's room and took my phone. I was nervous because there's a huge chance that Allie's already sleeping because it's already 1 a.m. there.

I sent her a "hi" and told her how tired I am because of our driveway project.

"Edi work out na yun" she replied

"Oh, bakit gising ka pa?"

"Nanonood ng Peaky Blinders. Crush ko na si John."

"Ayaw mo kay Thomas? Ako yun e."

"Mas cute si John, baby face."

I never thought that she'll be hooked too. It's already 1 in the morning and yet she's watching Peaky Blinders.

"Ayoko na bumalik sa baba. Napapagod na ako."

"Ano ka ba? Your Tatay asked for your help."

"Anyway, ang ganda talaga ng boses mo."

"Thank you"

"Very good. Marunong na mag-thank you."

Suddenly I remember that I'm going to tell her what I feel so I asked,

"Allie, ready ka na bang mainlove ulit?"

"Hindi ko alam. Bakit?"

"Irereto ko si Jin e. Kapatid kong bunso. Sabi mo kasi sakin noon e gusto mo singkit, neat, matalino. Magaling sa math yun e. Diba mahina ka sa math?"

"Dinamay mo pa yung kapatid mo."

"But seriously, are you ready?"

"Depende. Siguro. Di ko sure. Depende sa tao."

"Are you traumatized? Dahil ba kay Xander?"

"Sinong Xander?"

"Ex mo. Xander yun diba?"

"Zandro kasi"

"Edi Zandro. Dahil ba sa kanya?"

"Somehow but not totally because of him. Six years din kami nun. Ang tagal ko rin kasing binuo ulit yung sarili ko. Nakakatakot masira ulit."

"Ano bang ginawa?"

"Nahuli kong may iba. Kaya pala feeling ko di ako enough tapos di ako pinaglalaban, madalas akong pinababayaan. Iniisip ko noon kung anong kulang sakin. Ilang taon akong ganun. Buti natauhan ako. Ayun."

"Sige magkukwento rin ako. Unfair na ikaw lang e. Naaalala mo nung umuwi ako tas nagtanong ako sayo?"

"Yep"

"Nagstay ako noon sa ex ko, kay Jona. Taga Valenzuela kaya alam ko kung saan work mo. I found out na she cheated on me and something happened between them. Sobrang mahal ko si Jona noon. I even told her that I'll raise her baby kaso natauhan din ako e."

"Ang sakit naman nun. Nasaktan ako para sa inyo."

"You don't have to"

"I know. Pero bilang babae, I felt sad for Jona. She made a mistake but you told her that you'll raise her baby then ayun, bigla kang natauhan. Alam kong masakit yun para sa kanya pero naiintindihan din kita kasi LDR e tas ganun pala madadatnan mo rito. Hindi kita masisisi."
