CHAPTER 36: Tell Them the Truth

I woke up early in the morning because my phone was ringing. I checked it and it's Kid, calling. So I answered it even if I am too sleepy.

Jin: Hey, I'm sleepy, Kuya. Call me later.

Kid: No, I need you. I have something to tell you.

J: Huh? This early? Fuck.

K: We'regoing to the airport. I know this is sudden but this is important, dude. I'm on my way and I'll be there after five or ten minutes. Hindi ko madadala tong kotse sa Pilipinas kaya ikaw mag-uuwi nito. Bilisan mo mag-asikaso.

Then he dropped the call

I don't know what's going on my brother's mind but it's a very important matter for sure.

I just washed my face and brushed my teeth then changed clothes and went outside. I waited there for few minutes then he came. I sent our mom a text message saying that I'll be gone for a while and I'll be back after few hours.

While in the passenger seat, I noticed that my brother only have few stuff with him. He mentioned to me that he's going to our home country but he only have few bags with him.

"Bakit ang konti ng dala mo? Ano bang gagawin mo run?" I asked him.

"Ganito kasi yun, I fell in love with a girl two years before and now, I want to win her back and ask for her hand." He answered

"Teka, teka. Kayo ni Margarita ba yun diba?"

"I broke up with her. I realized that I really love Allison."

"Ang bilis mo naman yata, Kuya. Gugulatin mo yung babae. Nawala ka tas babalik ka bigla tapos yayayain mo syang magpakasal."

"Alam ko pero hindi mo kasi naiintindihan e. Ayoko na syang pakawalan, Jin. Natatakot akong mawala pa sya. Ilang taon akong nagpakatanga."

"Okay, so anong sasabihin ko pag-uwi?"

"Tell them the truth."

"When will you be back?"

"Just few days, bro."

"Good luck. Balitaan mo ako."

"Oo naman"

Same old, Kid. He's still a kid even if he's older than me but I wish him the best. I have never seen him that determined before.
