Chapter 12: The Magic Trick

Two months passed and things were great between Allie and I. We still debate about different stuff, make fun of each other, she lulls me at night, we send each other pictures and videos, and we loved watching each other's favorite series and movies. Everything was sailing smoothly and we never had big fights.

I was about to go to sleep when she sent me a message.

"Daniel, adjust your time. Make it 11:57." She said out of nowhere

"Why?" I asked

"I'll show you a magic trick."

"What magic trick?"

"Just adjust it."

"It's only 11:55"

"That's why you're going to adjust it."

I adjusted it the way she wanted to then she called after two minutes

Kid: Yes, babe? (I answered)

Allie: What time is it on your phone?

Kid: 11:59 p.m.

Allie: good. Count up to 10.

Kid: Why?

Allie: I have a magic trick!!

Kid: Fine. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

Allie: Okay, good.

Kid: Where's the magic?

Allie: Okay it's already July 31, 2020 there since you adjusted your time and of course, it's also July 31, 2020 here. I'm now your girlfriend, Daniel! Who says I can't beat our 12 hour gap? 8, 192 miles sucks! That's the magic. Bye!

And she dropped the call

I honestly laughed afterwards. She's such a baby. I don't know what's with 31. She really made sure that it's gonna be July 31, 2020 for the two of us. I found that cute. She outsmarted me again. I didn't see that coming.

I am Allison's boyfriend.

And I'm her Daniel
