You rode off with Miss Pauling, the warehouse behind you flaming. Both of you were silent for a few minutes before Miss Pauling took a deep breath in and spoke. "So, I don't think I ever asked for your name?" She sounded nervous and uncomfortable, like she really didn't want to be in this situation. Makes sense. I mean, how awkward would it be if you were to be chilling with the guy you stabbed? Similar scenario, eh? You grumbled internally. Shut up. Why are you telling yourself to shut up, that's not how this works and you know it. You held in a grumpy groan as you looked up at the lady as she continued facing forward. You sighed and answered. "Y/N"

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Y/N" She was awkward in saying it, as your first introduction to her was her shooting you in the leg. "Uh, likewise." you replied with a small chuckle. "What?" She glanced back at you slightly, raising an eyebrow. You noticed while she looked back, while her speech was ridden with nervousness, her posture was that if someone who remained calm and orderly. Huh, wonder what's up with that. "Ah nothing, just the circumstances I guess." you finally replied, chuckling again. She also laughed a little, but it was a laugh filled with regret. "Yeah... I'm sorry- God, I could've never expected- wait- why were you even in there in the first place?" She glanced back to you again, a questioning look on her face. You glanced off to the side, not knowing exactly how to answer the question as you scratched your cheek awkwardly.

"Well, uh, I didn't really know where I was, so I went to look for someone that could tell me."

"Why didn't you know where you were?"

"I fell asleep on a truck and it took me here."

"And you decided to go to a creepy warehouse to find someone that could give you directions?"

"Uh- yeah."

You awkwardly looked off to the side, now realizing just how stupid of an idea that was. Now you realize? Where else would I have gone? No one was around! Yeah, and there would obviously be people in some random warehouse rather than somewhere else, right? ....shut up. Miss Pauling chuckled softly and continued. "It's alright, we all have stupid ideas sometimes.... although people like me can't afford to make them..." She mumbled the last part, and you decided to ignore it as a wave of fatigue suddenly took over your senses. The bags under your eyes suddenly felt heavier than before as you readjusted your seating, asking the woman a question. "Hey, would it be a bad idea for me to fall asleep right now?" She hummed as she thought about it for a moment, before answering with a shrug. "Well, it's going to take a few hours to get where we're going, so it's not a horrible idea. Just lean up against me so that if you stop breathing I notice."

You laughed softly, hoping she was joking. It turned out she wasn't. So you leaned up against her back, succumbing to your need for sleep.

Everything was dark. So dark you couldn't see anything. So dark the shadows seemed to suffocate you.

It was hard to move, but you managed. It felt as if there was something weighing you down, trying to keep you from moving. There was an abrupt flash of light, remaining and staying on you as it shone down on you. It came from above, streaming down like a blinding spotlight. It shifted, moving onto a figure in front of you. That figure was trembling, cowering in fear at the sight of you.

"P-please don't hurt me! I'll do anything you want, just please don't kill me!"

It was as if your body moved on its own. You hadn't realized it before, but there was a knife in your hands. You couldn't move. You couldn't control yourself. It felt as if invisible strings pulled at your limbs, causing you to move without any control as a puppet. You wanted to stop. "What am I doing? I don't want to hurt them! Stop it!" No sound left your mouth as you begged yourself to not commit this atrocity. You already knew how this would end, but it didn't change the fact that you'd do anything to stop it. Your arm raised up in a fist, tightly gripping a sharp, metallic blade. You and your prey screamed at the same time.
