You went to bed shortly after that, getting a little comfort and some hugs from the mercenaries, even though you said your tears were happy tears. And they were, but there was a little sadness in them as well. What the mercenaries did for you couldn't help but remind you a bit of what you had, and what you might have been able to keep. But you did your best to push the memories aside and ignore them, getting ready for bed and eventually falling asleep. Even though your past didn't want you to be, you were happy.

You awoke in a fancy hotel room, snuggling fluffy velvet covers in order to keep your warmth.

"Oh! Jou're avake!"

Along came Medic, walking into the room from what you would guess would be the hall. "Good morning Medic! Where am I now?" He chuckled, going into your room's closet and searching through it. "Jou're in hotel room number 402. Ve got jou a suite! Speaking of us, ve vill be waiting out in zhe living room, so join us vhen jou are ready." Finally picking out an outfit, he walked over towards your bed as you finally sat up, laying out a (dress/tuxedo). "Spy picked zhis out for jou, so I zhink he'd be happy to see jou wear it." You nodded, laughing with the doctor as he left with a cup of tea that wasn't there before.

Now dressed in the outfit Spy had picked out for you, you made your way out into the hall, searching for the mercenaries when you realized the lights were out, and everything was dark. "Huh, wonder if this is some sort of training exercise. Wonder why they're making me do it in the dark?" You walked out into the hall, wandering around as you eventually came across an elevator. You wanted to take the stairs, but you went in anyway, clicking the button for the topmost floor. Once at the top, you were met with a pool of water, which streamed off of the side of the building into a giant waterfall. Without thinking, you jumped into the water, finding that it was pleasantly warm. Spreading out like a starfish, you allowed yourself to flow with the water, going towards the waterfall until you fell off of the side of the hotel. You plunged into the water below, which revealed an underwater world that seemed to be an exact replica of the base. Even though you were underwater, you could breathe just fine, so you weren't concerned about drowning. You swam through the halls of the base, eventually coming across a hall of doors. Most of them were labeled with each of their names, save for Medic who you were pretty sure slept in his medbay. Going over to check this assumption, you swam towards the medbay, seeing Medic asleep and slumped over a desk. You swam over and draped his lab coat over him, causing him to tense in his sleep, but then relax as he curled into the warmth of his coat. You smiled, feeling the urge to check on Engie as well. Going back over to the hall of doors, you pressed your ear against the door labeled "Engineer" to hear no snoring. Swimming away, you went towards the second place you guessed he could be at, which was the garage. Moving through the watery halls like a mermaid, you arrived at the garage to see Engie watching the fire in his smelter burn, likely melting some steel or metal for his next creation. But you could clearly see that he was starting to doze off. So you paddled over to him, positioning yourself so that you were looking directly at the mercenary. For a moment he looked into your eyes, and you thought he might have been able to see you, but he then slumped over the back of the chair, snoring. You giggled at this, patting the man on the shoulder softly before going to the bar to check up on Demo next.

Moving through the door like a ghost, you saw as Demo sat with a bottle clutched in his hand, laying his head down on the bar table. Upon seeing this you had flashbacks of back when you saw your father like this. He was a pathetic and sad man, always nursing a bottle of liquor in his hands as he sobbed and mourned. Demo seemed similar in a way, but you could tell he wasn't actually anything like your father. Demo was but a simple drunk. He would never hurt you.
