You turned towards your door and away from the direction you were pacing. Who could that be? You made your way over to the door and swung it open, and to your surprise, Medic was the one standing at the other side. He looked grumpy as he usually did, but also somewhat upset, which was an odd sight. "Oh, hey Medic. W- What's up?" You cursed yourself for stuttering as the mercenary in front of you crossed his arms and replied. "Why did jou run away before I could heal jou? Jour injuries could have been serious." Rubbing the back of your neck you sighed, and looked up at him apologetically. "S-sorry. I was just really hungry, and when I get hungry, I get grumpy, and mean and- I just wanted to get out of there and get something to eat before I did anything I'd... regret.... Sorry." You looked down and Medic rolled his eyes. "Jou apologized once, I don't need to hear it twice. Now do jou want to be healed or not?" You looked up, surprised at his offer and smiled awkwardly. "N- no, it's fine, I didn't even get that badly hurt. There's really just a few cuts and bruises." Medic raised a brow, and within his eyes you could've sworn you saw a hint of concern. "Are jou sure?" He looks to the side and goes to touch the bruise on your cheek, making you flinch and wince. "Zhat bruise looks pretty painful." He wore a barely noticeable smile at your reaction to the pain, as if he were holding back a snicker. You chose to ignore it. Sighing and covering your cheek with your hand, you replied timidly. "I mean- if it's not too much to ask-'' Medic scoffed. "Kind, I'm zhe one who offered in zhe first place." He turned and walked out the door and gestured for you to follow him. "Come along, let's get jou healed up."
You smiled softly and followed. I can't help but wonder in moments like these if they care. It's really hard to tell though, since I did just meet them. Oh, who am I kidding, they're probably just taking care of you so that Miss Pauling doesn't kill them or something. I mean seriously, you're just some random bum that started living with them. Why would they care about a bum? Your smile faded in that instant. You couldn't help but hope just to stab your hopes in the heart. It was a bad habit you had acquired. You two eventually made it to the med bay, to which Medic opened the door for you. Thanking him, you went inside and sat on the operating chair as you usually had. "Did jou clean jour vounds?" You nodded. "Yeah, I took a shower after I left." He nodded and went towards the medguns' rig and turned it on, sending the red stream towards you and healing all of your cuts and bruises. You smiled, in awe of the machine's work. "I wonder how long until I get used to that." Medic turned it off and shrugged. "Not long." You breathed out a small laugh. "Thanks again." You were about to jump down from the chair when Medic appeared in front of you and pressed a hand to your shoulder, stopping you. "Before jou go, I need to ask jou some zhings." The reality of the situation then hit you, making you anxious. You were alone in a room with an older man who was practically a complete stranger to you. You tensed up as you realized this, and Medic drew back his hand from your shoulder as he seemed to notice your sudden discomfort. He didn't mention it though, luckily for you. Pulling up a chair, he picked up a clipboard and pen from the table in the corner and clicked it, sitting down and looking as if he were about to interrogate you. Unexpectedly, he then held the clipboard and pen out to you, gesturing you to take it. Reluctantly, you took the materials from his hand and looked down at the papers held within the clipboard. The first page was asking for stuff like your gender, age, birthday, and other information. You guessed they were for documentation; the doctor probably had more that were designated to the rest of the mercenaries.
"Do- do you want me to fill this out?" Medic rolled his eyes and replied sarcastically. "No, I handed zhat to jou so zhat jou can hold it vhile I stare at jou like a veirdo." You pursed your lips, tapping the pen against the clipboard a few times. "I'll fill this out then..." Looking through the papers, you answered the easy stuff first. Gender, age, date of birth, and even height were easy ones, but there was a lot you didn't know how to answer. You hadn't been able to check your weight in who knows how long, and you had no clue what you were allergic to, or if you had ever had chickenpox. Tapping your pen against the side of the clipboard, you frowned at the words written on the paper in front of you. Shit, really don't know how to answer the majority of these. Should I just tell him that? He'll probably think you're an idiot. Better that than trying to fill out the paper with bullshit and looking like an even bigger idiot... Fair enough. "Uhm, I- I don't really know how to answer a lot of these..." Medic sighed. "Vhat did I expect." He held his hand out, to which you handed the clipboard and pen back to him as he read over everything you had written down. You looked down, somewhat embarrassed and even disappointed in yourself for not knowing such simple things about yourself. "Vell zhen, ve are going to have to fill out zhe rest of zhese together."
