Breakfast went by uneventfully, Medic not showing up likely because he was still going over your diagrams, and Spy was apparently still out on his 'personal business trip.' You had already worked out that day, being that you had gone on that run with Scout, and you didn't have any training to do (that you knew of at the moment at least). So now you had to decide what you were going to do for the rest of the day. Heading back up to your room, you searched around, trying to come up with some ideas. That was when you spotted the notebook that Medic had given you. Oh yeah, I was planning on reading that, wasn't I? So, you did as planned, and grabbed the notebook as you plopped yourself down on your bed, opening it up to start reading. You soon found out that you could not concentrate on a single word that was written out within the book. Hoping to try and refocus yourself, you switched positions into something more comfortable. Still unable to concentrate, you let out a sigh and tried to switch positions again.

And again.

And again.

Finally giving up, you let out an unenthusiastic breath of air, heading out of your room, but taking the book with you in case you randomly felt like reading. As you walked out the door, you entered the section of the halls that connected your room and the rec room, but also one of the exits. Remembering back to that morning, you recalled that you had specifically thought to yourself about how you wanted to find a way up to the roof. So, it would seem that you were at a crossroads. Head to the rec room to try and read again or watch TV, or head outside to try and find a way up to the roof. Hmmm, okay, so. If I go to the rec room, there's a very minimal chance that I'll actually end up feeling like reading, and when it comes to watching TV, that can get really boring really quickly. If I go outside and try and find a way up to the roof, it would kill a lot of time, but there's the chance that I could fall and die... Glancing back and forth between the two halls. You settled on the latter option, feeling that risking your life would be much preferred to being bored out of your mind. And if I actually do find a way up to the roof, I might end up wanting to read... because of the view! Yeah, the view. That'd be why. Yep. Heading outside, you swung the door open causing a warm gust of morning air to blow in your face. Continuing onwards, you closed the door behind you, remembering that Scout was able to come in and out without a key. Walking around the side of the base, you jogged over to the pipeline that ran up to the roof, which was the same one that served as the marker for the race with Scout. Scanning it up and down, you grabbed onto the bottom, trying to see if it was stable and if there were good handholds and footholds. The pipes were a little rickety, but could support your weight easily enough. So, you began your climb, making sure to be careful around the more rusted areas of metal.

Around halfway up, you realized how tall the building actually was, and began to have second thoughts. Well, I don't feel like it's a good idea to go back down. Or to look down. Yeah, definitely do not look down. Stupidly defying your conscience, you peeked down at the ground to see that you were a lot higher up than you had initially thought. At the height you were at now, you'd be lucky to only get away with a couple of broken legs. Screaming internally, you gripped onto your holds tighter and continued to climb. There's no going back now! Let's just hope that on my way around I find another way down- like a ladder or something. When you finally got to the top, you clung to the ledge as you carefully pulled yourself upwards. You had a small heart attack when your foot was stuck in a part of the pipes, but with some maneuvering, you were able to pry your foot from its cage. When you realized your foot was free, you flung yourself onto the roof, clinging to the ground. Okay, so what now? Well, you found a way up to the roof, but not a fun one. You should probably try and find a way down. Yeah, in a bit, I wanna take in the view first.

Even after your close encounter with death, you didn't feel too fearful of being so high up, as long as you had a flat and solid floor underneath you. Getting up off of the ground, you cast your gaze upwards, looking out across the horizon. Even though it was nothing special, since the sunrise had already passed, the view was still nice. You could only imagine what it'd look like at night, or while the sun went up or came down. Grinning from ear to ear, you basked in the sun's warmth as you got the sudden urge to read. Huh, who woulda thought, I actually feel like reading now. I didn't expect that to actually work. Laughing softly, you walked further into the roof's grounds, finding a nice vent to prop your back up against so that you could read. Some time passed and you made a small dent within the notebook when you heard the sound of metal creaking behind you. At first, you assumed it might have been coming from the vent, but when you glanced back to investigate you saw a metal trapdoor opening. You panicked, not knowing if you should hide or not, in case you being up here could get you in trouble. But there was no time since you jumped up in your panic and made noise, causing the door to fall open with a thud to reveal Sniper looking directly at you, his rifle pointed right between your eyes. When you saw this you quickly put your hands up, not daring to take a step due to your fear of Sniper blowing your brains out. "W-Wait! Sniper, it's me! Don't shoot!" When he noticed that it was you he quickly put down his rifle, looking at you with an expression of shock mixed with confusion. "Roo? What the bloody hell are you doin' up here?" Slowly putting your hands down, you let out a long, "Uhhhhhhhh..." not knowing how to explain yourself. Giving him an awkward shrug, you scratched the back of your head. "I was... bored...?" He rose a brow, squinting at you with an expression that made you feel more than a little stupid. Nonetheless, he sighed, slinging his rifle onto his back as he waved you over. "Well, whatever the reason, it's about time that you get down, innit?" Avoiding eye-contact, you nodded and went over to the trapdoor, following Sniper down the ladder. When you guys got to the bottom, he pointed towards a door, giving you directions. "So if you go through that door and take a left, the second door on the right should have this narrow staircase that'll lead you back down to the main areas of the base, alroight? And make sure to exit out the second door down." You nodded, but then got the idea to look down at your watch to see if the story of the base you were on was mapped out. Surprisingly enough, it was. Huh, that's nice. Weird that this level is mapped out but the basement wasn't. Maybe it's because they didn't think I'd end up down there? "Alright, but what are you gonna do on the roof." Sniper's eyes flickered away from you for a millisecond, as if he had to quickly come up with a lie. "Er- I gotta patrol! Scan the area around the base, and the roof gives ya a good view!" He flashed a nervous smile, to which you rose a brow slightly, not buying it. But you shrugged and went along with it anyway. "Okay... I'll see ya later then!" You headed towards the door, waving as Sniper waved back, waiting for you to leave.
