Running. That's all you really seemed to know how to do, isn't it?

You have always run away from things. Your entire pathetic life, you've lived in fear. And when something that could hurt you appears within said life, your immediate reaction is to run away or cower in fear.

...

I do wonder, how things are going to go now that you're trying to escape your escapism?

You gasped for breath as you pushed yourself up, your breath ragged as you took in your surroundings. Blinking rapidly, you hunched over and ran your hands along your face, rubbing off the cold sweat that stuck to your skin. Upon doing this, you felt a bandage wrapped around your head. You were confused as to why it was there, until the memories flooded back to you. Holy shit... Did I actually do that? I fucking decapitated a robot with a sword?! Not gonna lie, that's badass. Wonder if it looked badass from the outside... But oh my fucking god I did it! I actually did it! And no one got hurt! You smiled and let out a giddy laugh at the realization, gaining the attention of a certain doctor. "Kind, is zhat jou?" You stopped laughing, feeling awkward about laughing with no apparent reason, but you couldn't help but still smile due to your accomplishment. Medic entered the room through the curtain, and upon seeing your smile, smiled as well, but raised a brow due to his confusion of the matter. "Vhy are jou smiling? Did jou have a good dream?" He made his way over to you, resting at your side. You shook your head. "No, I- heh- I never remember my dreams. But I'm smiling because I did it. I actually activated my failsafe, and no one got hurt!" Medic rose a brow upon hearing that you never remembered your dreams, but quickly moved past it as you let out a few happy and relieved laughs. Medic laughed as well, but also looked a little concerned. "Vell, jes, no one got hurt, if jou don't include jourself." You chuckled. "Yeah, I guess." Medic felt your head, telling you, "Tell me if zhis hurts." When he felt somewhere around the front of your head, you felt a slight bruise pain, and let him know. "Zhat vould make sense, zhat's vhere zhe cut vas." You let out a small, "Oh" as Medic unwrapped the bandages, checking for blood. When he didn't find any, he let out a sigh, going over to some of his equipment and bringing over a flashlight. He shone it in your eyes, causing you to squint. Apparently having found what he wanted, he turned off the flashlight, putting up a finger in front of you. "Follow my finger vithout turning jour head." You did what you were told, and upon seeing that you could do the simple task, Medic nodded, putting away the flashlight and throwing away the old bandages. "Try not to fall asleep until 8:00 tonight, and if jou feel any pain or nausea, come to me immediately." You nodded as Medic moved to the side, allowing you to jump down from the table. "Thanks for everything Medic." You gave him a polite smile, to which he returned, nodding. "Of course, kind. But now jou must go, I have vork to attend to." You nodded before heading to the door, waving him goodbye as he did the same.

You went through the rest of the day with a smile on your face, earning confused looks from a lot of the mercenaries, and especially so when passing by Spy and Engie. For a moment they honestly thought that Medic might have drugged you.

Later on that night Spy met with you, and his first words to you were, "Do 'ou think you are done with training your failsafe?" You were immediately confused by the question and flashed him a nervous smile. "Uh... Yeah..? I activated it, didn't I? I don't feel the need to do it again unless it's necessary." Spy looked at you with an expression you didn't like much. It made you nervous, and uncomfortable. "You still can't control it." You glanced off to the side for a moment, an anxious sweat forming on your back. "Well, I kinda can. I feel like I have a good grip on it." Well, good enough at least. "Well, whatever 'ou say.." He said this in a sarcastic tone, but in a way where he was trying to make the sarcasm sound hidden and only laced within his words, to the point it was barely noticeable. "..but I do recommend 'ou train to try and get a better grip on it." He then left, leaving you alone with your confusion and intrusive thoughts about the matter.
